The Brad Stevens buzz is not going away: Despite the Butler coach's assertion Friday that he had not been contacted by Illinois about a job offer, college basketball sources told the Tribune on Sunday that the Illini have made a serious run at Stevens.
Sources said Illinois is working on a package that matches Steven's current contract in length, securing him until 2021-22, and substantially increasing his salary. One source said the price tag is around $21 million for an 8-year contract.
