Football recruiting update

Day and Mosely, well, those are the type of kids that can make us Michigan State or Iowa or Wisconsin. No, we're never going to recruit with Ohio State or Michigan. That just not how it works. But we can so what we seemingly did with Day. Ohio State's old staff offered Day, but the Urban Meyer's staff reportedly told him they wanted to see him work out at several positions before they'd firm up that offer (read: they're chasing some 5-star kids and wanted him to hang around as a fall-back). I'm guessing we played the right card in that situation and told him "why wait for them when we want you to be a superstar?" Day to Illinois.
Mosely, too. The reason he was #2 on my WANT list was because this is the kind of kid that has put Michigan State and Iowa and Wisconsin where they are today. Great athlete, top-10 player in Illinois on both Rivals and ESPN, excellent student who can handle the rigors of being a Big Ten student athlete (hi Fitzee!) -- he's the Iowa cornerback we've coveted for the last 10 years, except he told Iowa no and picked Illinois.
