Then hybrid safety/linebacker Ashante Williams returned an interception 60 yards early in the fourth quarter for the game's final points in a 24-7 victory over Western Michigan in Tim Beckman's debut as Illini coach on Saturday at Memorial Stadium.
"The coaches came out and said this is a key drive of the game," Williams said. "If they had scored again, it would have shifted the momentum."
