Illini have nearly enough in loss to Miami

Illini coach John Groce had to gather himself to find the composure to speak in the post-game press conference.

"I couldn't be more proud of our team throughout the season and it was exemplified in full fashion today," he said.

"We battled. I asked them to play with courage and they played with courage at a high level. Their poise was tremendous. We had our opportunities and I want to give Miami credit. They are a really good basketball team.

"It was a battle. It was like a heavyweight boxing match out there. Unfortunately, we came out on the short end of it."
