"I used to kind of scoff at the idea of Amar'e Stoudemire comparisons with Cliff," recruiting analyst Joe Henricksen said. "But now that you see him actually knocking down face-up jumpers and project what that could be like three or four years from now, you can see it."

Michigan State, Illinois and Kentucky are thought to be Alexander's top three schools. Alexander repeatedly has said he "loves [Michigan State coach] Tom Izzo."

"I think it's more wide-open than that," [Mike] Irvin said. "Even DePaul is still really involved. Cliff is definitely wide-open. He is willing to play with anyone in college."
