Q&A with AAU coach Mike Irvin
September 18, 2013 10:28 AM
Kedric: John Groce is in his second year at Illinois, can you tell me what your thoughts are on him so far?
Irvin: Coach Groce has done a great job. Before he came to Illinois, people really didn't know who he was. Now everyone knows him. Coach Groce is everywhere recruiting: he's in school, homes, and in gyms all across the country. He has done a great job at Illinois; he is a coach that really lets the kids play. When he had D.J. Cooper at Ohio University, he allowed him to play his game and he brought the same style to Illinois. The way they play is an exciting brand of basketball kids notice that and want to play for him.
