I second that on ML. His progression signals that this year is going to be a good one.

[FONT=&quot]Devyn Marble & Nnanna Egwu still on non-g'd deals, but they're in strong position for #Magic opening night roster: http://www.hoopsrumors.com/2015/10/magic-waive-greg-stiemsma.html …

The Magic have waived Greg Stiemsma, the team announced via press release. The move takes the Magic down to 15 players, the regular season roster limit. Orlando has 13 fully guaranteed contracts, and while teams aren’t required to carry more than that many players, most start the season with 15, which suggests Orlando has made its final preseason cut. If that’s the case, center Nnanna Egwu and Devyn Marble will make the Magic opening night roster on their non-guaranteed deals.

Go, Nnanna!

Awesome news! Couldn't happen to a better person, or harder worker. He completely deserves it. And it gives Groce a little boost in recruiting as well.

Based on the video, sounds like Nnanna is going to pre-season workouts for Fort Wayne Mad-Ants. Given that he was the last roster cut for the Magic, I doubt he has any issue making their final roster. Though, I do remember seeing last year that Joe Bert was selected 1st overall in the D-League's draft by Westchester Knicks but was waived at the end of their pre-season. Also here are some updates I've found on other former Illini:

Rayvonte playing well in Italy: http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/gamecent/p/pid/6084181/playerview.html

Ahmad signed with ecoOrebro in Sweden: http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/gamecent/p/pid/6100085/playerview.html

D.J. playing another year in Finland: http://www.fiba.com/pages/eng/fc/gamecent/p/pid/6078108/playerview.html

Not sure how accurate the Bertrand stat is... I'm seeing him #10 in the second round... https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2014_NBA_Development_League_Draft

Thanks for catching that, meant to say he was the Westchester Knicks first selection in the D-league draft.

Posting here to say that the injury bug is even biting Illini alums.

D.J. Richardson hurt his ankle playing in Finland. He says nothing broken, so nothing too serious. :clappy:

Nnanna has been playing pretty well for the Erie Bayhawks of the D-League. Averaging 11.5 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.9 blocks per game through 10 games. He's had 2 double doubles and has also had 2 games where he recorded 6 blocks!
