Not a makeup....all too often shooters are whacked on the finish of the shot. Part of the shooting motion that affects the flight of the ball. Not called enough.

Nothing you do affects the flight of the ball after it leaves your hand... but anticipating the contact during your follow-through would affect things before the release, which is why it should still be a foul. Sorry, couldn't pass up an opportunity to get technical...
