Interesting read if you think Illinois is likely to be looking for a coach in the future.

We were included in there already so I think we know about the conclusion reached.

Did you realize that 40 Power-5 jobs have opened in the past five years, and exactly two of them -- UCLA and Texas -- have been filled by established and successful coaches with decent jobs who weren't running from something.

Isaac Chew to Texas A&M. Remember when he was an Illinois coach for 5 minutes?

That's a very loose use of the word "decent". VCU and New Mexico are decent, so I guess Wichita State is too, is Dayton "decent"? Was Texas Tech not "decent" for Tubby? Was UNLV not "decent" for Chris Beard? Apparently Texas Tech was "decent" enough for him. Was Jamie Dixon "running from something" btw?

There are a lot of jobs and not a lot of A+ resumes, is probably a better way to put it. It's a seller's market.

I'm imagining Deon making it his personal mission to contact anybody Auburn recruits and tell them what a terrible person Bruce Pearl is. Of course, coaching would get in the way of this as he would have to follow the rules, so this clearly frees him up to do so. :D

Larry Brown is scum. They are probably about to be slapped with some pretty significant sanctions and he jumped ship.

Jon Rothstein Verified account ‏@JonRothstein BREAKING: Larry Brown is stepping down as head coach of SMU, sources told @CBSSports. Tim Jankovich will take his place moving forward.

Andy Katz ‏@ESPNAndyKatz 3m3 minutes ago Just spoke with SMU's Larry Brown:" I'm stepping down." When I asked why? He said, "I've got nothing else to say... http://es.pn/29zTIE5

Apparently its over a contract issue. He wanted a 5 year deal and they wouldn't give him one that long.

I saw someone post a comment on the story that he was more likely to be dead than still coaching in 5 years :D

Not sure where else to put this, but does this qualify as going from the frying pan to the fire or the fire to the frying pan?

Mack Rhoades has packed a lot of action into his 14 months as Director of Athletics at Mizzou. But sources have told PowerMizzou.com that Rhoades’ tenure will come to an end. According to those sources, Rhoades is leaving Mizzou to be the Athletic Director at Baylor. Announcements should come from Baylor and Mizzou by the end of the day Wednesday.
