Now, how much of the money is he soaking up? And this had better be the last of any Tilmon drama.

Independent of Tilmon, Jamal adds value. Seems to connect very well with today's athletes, personality-wise.

People have to learn to not trust any "sources" on here that don't come directly from Piper and Werner. They are by far the most plugged in guys.

Definitely a win for short term roster management. Hopefully they can see a path forward with an aligned vision and send a consistent message to players and recruits with respect to the new style of play.

What an odd situation this is. I hope this is what's best for the Underwood era long term, not just in terms of next year's roster and fending off Cuonzo Martin.

Also happy for coach Walker to now start learning under a far better coach. Should really benefit him more in the long run as a coach.

Great news for Jamal. I hope it is truly right for him and his family - and we can continue to build relationships with our recruiting pipeline (and maintain consistency with the current guys).

Love it.

I'm not trying to slam the guy, but there is a 0% chance he is on this staff if he's not a but-for cause of Tilmon enrolling.

Hard to say really. Can't argue with it but he was the lead recruiter for all of our best players and all of the top targets we are going after.

With all due respect, we do have to fend off Cuonzo Martin, as he's recruiting right in our backyard. JW is just one part of the staff and if he helps lock down the St. Louis Metro area, then this is not a short term solution. It's a long term fix. Missouri is going to become an issue. The man can recruit. He can't coach a lick, but he can recruit. It will be interesting to see who else BU gets to fill out his staff.

Well, we already know Cuonzo wants Jamal. That's been established. Guessing Jamal would be used as the Illinois/Indiana/Ohio lead recruiter, with some overlap in the St. Louis metro area.

Plus, I can't help but recall the LaPhonso Ellis comments about our new Illinois HC hire. "They should have hired Cuonzo. They missed the boat. They should have hired Cuonzo."

I'm thinking all of the St. Louis guys are really tight. There just has to be some appeal (for Jamal) being in that fraternity of coaches.

It's like we have a new found level of competence in the athletic admin in CU. Making the smart decision on a consistent basis. We haven't had that in forever.

This is not true. He was hired because he is strong in a recruiting area with lots of players, and he is a good coach. He was not hired for one recruit. Underwood is not stupid.

Great news now secure Tilmon and hopefully Smith will commit in the next few weeks and we are a top 10-15 team in 2018-19.

Underwood should bring in his guy from OK St and then hire the LaLu coach. Just my preference.

Players at Indiana decommitted immediately after Crean was fired. Same at Washington. Our recruits have waited until new coaching staff was in place. How is that drama?
