On this day of his visit, I'm curious to know how many people think we get Mark Smith. I don't think we do, but will be very happily surprised if we do.

The next two seasons will be enough to get all of these no people to throw their cups in the trash and say yes to success.

Lots of factors that do not play in our favor.

- Too many schools involved
- Coaching change, and the Tilmon defection
- We're pegged for no better than 12th in the Big10 in 2017-18
- Charlie Moore is probably a lean towards the ILLINI, thus competing for minutes in a year

Somehow, though, I get the impression that his mom is a huge Illini fan. I'm hoping she's a big influence on his decision.

Moore won't come if Smith is here. Totally fine with that.

Hopefully the distance to East Lansing and Columbus compared to Champaign will also factor into the decision. I don't think the Charlie Moore situation will influence too much.

The 12th placed projection is probably the biggest factor. With MSU being a favorite to get to the Final Four next year, that looks like the biggest negative against us.

I would, of course, love to see MS in the Orange and Blue but had to vote "no." Too many blue bloods on his trail. I hope I am proved wrong.

Have stated many times before Smith comes to the ILLINI...he places a lot of value in being at home....we are home for him...sticking with it Smith to us by Friday cancelling trips.

I've had the gut feeling he comes here, too, since the beginning. I feel like this is home for him and he knows it deep down. Just wanted to let the process play out, enjoy the process, and explore all options so he and his family could be sure. Mature way to go about it, IMO.

Man, if he does commit I'm going to be extremely excited about the future. A future guard lineup of Smith, Frazier, Lucas, Coleman-Lands, DMW, etc. is extremely exciting to think about under Underwood's coaching.

If he goes elsewhere does this poll become: Did we need Mark Smith?

I kid, I kid.
