On Sheron Collins, aside from the recruiting cloud, I still find it hard to fathom a McD All American and college 1st team all American doesnt get drafted or have a couple of years at least in the NBA. I know he was short, but....

Some players have physical limitations and also their game does not necessarily translate well into the NBA, despite having very successful college careers. Sherron Collins certainly was successful in college at KU and our own Dee Brown was arguably the face of college basketball. Yet, their game never translated into the NBA.

Hendrickson gave an assumption on Ayo. Ayo has been silent about his path. We can't compare Ayo to others, he is one of a kind.

ATM, fact is he has OV with:illinois: October 7, Nolley scheduled to commit October 7. Mostly all rest of chatter on Street is heresay.

Ayo OV is October 13th not the 7th.

Kansas I believed was in the picture, JW was a top 10 recruit. I think Illinois fans felt he was ours, I'm not sure the rest of college bb felt that way.

Sherron Collins was the one I remember that Kansas came in last minute and swooped him in. I believe he was a strong Illini lean, he had a very good career at Kansas. But would of been part of the Illini family/in-state hero if he had chosen to stay.

Yeah I think sherron went to late night at the phog & committed shortly after.. if ayo visits Kansas during that event I'm gonna have a stroke

Four commitments in six days for Chris Holtmann and Ohio State. Justin Ahrens the latest to join the fold.

Didn't he decommit from OSU? So they just brought him back into the fold.

Yes, but that's 2 wings they've gotten this week. Hopefully eliminates another spot for THT although from what was posted earlier, I'm not hopeful he ends up here.

If we were to get Ayo/Nolley/Castleton and 1 other Big, I think the 19 class focus will be to land Liddell, Okoro and Whitney...now that would be a follow up class to speak of!:chief:

That will most likely be the focus regardless. The only thing will be if we miss out on Ayo we will probably go after a PG in that class.

Bryan Penn-Johnson's status for Illinois is listed as "Warmer" all of the sudden On 247, with just an UV a few weeks ago. Anything new brewing?

Tate is right when he implied that we should have paid Self 5 mil a year and it would have been a good investment. Guenther absolutely was terrified of the big money direction of coach's salaries and wasn't going to play that game.

Guenther was hired as a reaction to Neal Stoner. Guenther
was never going to get caught with his hand in the cookie jar. Unfortunately, that was the sum oral of his qualifications.

Very Sam McLaurin-esque. Nothing to get excited about, but a big who will do the dirty work and make the simple plays can make a huge difference.

Agree with some of the other posters, staff would gladly take this guy and Conditt or Castleton.

Surely someone, somewhere has made a spoof highlight video that shows nothing but a player's worst plays, misses and turnovers. Right?

Lol I was thinking the same thing. How funny would it be for a coach to watch that video? How long before he says wth am I watching?
