Your 100% correct but Miller's skills are so next level. He reminds me a bit of Tyler Ulis except 6 inches taller and very interested in playing for Illinois. I think he comes here and plays in the NBA. Last player I said that about even when they were freshman was Malcolm. I was 1 outta 2 as he obviously came here and pretty close on the second one.

Sorry, I love Malcolm, but he didn't sniff the NBA.

But, to your point, Miller absolutely looks like NBA material.

What makes Miller NBA material is his height. He's already what 6'4". So he already has good height for his position, even at the NBA level. He has the athleticism, he just needs the skill and he's got a good head start there.

Unless some recruits are diehard Illini fans, a lot of these Illini "success stories" do not really register on the national level recruiting. National recruits want to see a prominent team, a contender, or players making it into the NBA, etc. Improvement of some players who are not big names on the national scene or do not make it to the NBA become less visible/important to them, especially when the team itself is not making some noise.

That is why Illini coaches need to be strong recruiters, because we simply do not have many selling points, so much of what we are selling is "promise" of success. Playing time and Ayo are probably the two biggest selling points right now. JMO.
This just simply isn't true. If a recruit has legit interest in Illinois they will watch games. The staff also will show them videos to illustrate what they've done.

But most importantly, our top 2 targets at the 4 and 5 live within 2 hours of Champaign. They're well aware of our roster.

The one thing I think we are going to see, is a steady line of guards going to the NBA. Miller shows up, 2or3 will have there foot in the door to NBA, us bringing in bigs to compliment them will make the draw much better. Local talents will start a steady flow of great players coming and going. 20 win seasons will be flowing right with it.;):illinois:

Unless we are holding out for an impact grad transfer, maybe we push Okoro to reclassify and join the team next year. He could redshirt or play. Possibly get 5 years of Illinois education or 4 years of college bball and go pro.

Would take Okoro over the bigs we are currently looking at and have slim chance of landing. Okoro said his favorite subjects are math and physics. I bet academics are very important to him and family.

It’s not that easy to reclassify. Plus, the kids nowhere close to a decision so why would a school he isn’t committed to push for him to reclassify?

I believe his aunt and uncle are professors. So yes, I'd imagine academics are important to his family.

Chris Collins in the house to see EJ Liddel at the Centralia Holiday Tournament.

Coach Underwood just walked in. I told him to kick Collins out of his seat.

Wait to see how the season goes...nods as if towards the ILLINI team on the floor, then shys away...seems we should be in good shape. Proximity wouldn't hurt for sure.

Illini are the presumed leader for FO for now. We have a great sell. We just need to get a big in the 2018 class as well. The future is bright though. Although, I am not at high on Ayo as some. Time will tell. I want Miller here badly.

To me it doesn't make sense to reclassify just to redshirt
