And the BTN - Comcast stalemate may ruin it for many of us.

100% in this boat. I live in Florida, but watching Illinois football on Saturdays has been one of my favorite weekly fall traditions since my move down here. I really hope that the two parties figure it out and make it possible for me to keep watching.

Because I can't get access to BTN on my local cable service, I signed up for youtube.tv. There's more than BTN but that was enough for me.

Unfortunately the wife decided to change providers last month so I'm stuck for 2 years. Guess I'll be mooching off the in-laws

I cannot wait for this game, honestly the most I've ever been excited for a season. How crazy is that? Also last as a student so trying to make the most of it haha.
My last season was Beckman's first season and we went 2-10(0-8) losing 50-14 to Northwestern to end the season. I wish you much better fortune than I.

The season before was much more epic as we set the NCAA record for being the first team to start 6-0 and then end 0-6. Woo. We were ranked #16 that year before the downfall. Last time we were ever ranked.

Hulu TV, Youtube TV, and Playstation Vue are your best options all around $40 a month. Each has a 1 week trial period( at least Youtube and Vue) so technically you can get the first 3 weeks of the season free before committing to any of them.

I was really young at the time and we were fortunate enough to go to the Arizona State game.. I'll never forget that one

I feel sad for those on here who never got to see truly good Illini football while they were in school. At least I got to be in during the Kittner years and see the fun MicronPC.com Bowl annihilation of Virginia and the BCS Suger Bowl season. Plus I was still in C-U during the Rose Bowl season. That was a fun year.

Ah, I just can't help but get excited and optimistic come late August every single year, LOL ... regardless of what comes next, starting off 1-0 still feels good. Hopefully we have an easier win than last year's opener!

My last season on campus was 2007. I remember at the time thinking, I'm lucky to be here right now, this is really special. But also thinking something like, this isn't the last time that I will ever witness a season this good in my lifetime.

I think in terms of football AND basketball, my 4 year tenure was the worst run in sports in the school's history lol. Started in 2013, finished in 2017.

0 NCAA Tourneys and 1 bowl.

Can't get worse at least!

Anybody want to guess a time and quarter when panic sets in watching the first game? I'll say 3rd quarter 4 minutes when we're up 10-3 and turn it over. End up winning 24-10

The late 70's were brutal.

I loved my time in C-U from 82-86. The White years... "The Season"... Ripping the goal posts down each game... unfortunately I bragged too much and all my friends gave it back tenfold at my Rose Bowl party which was over after the kickoff

How short should AJ Bush’s leash be? He hasn’t had much game experience and this is a new offense so things may not click right away. Let’s say it’s 7-7 af halftime and Rivers had a fumble and int. Do you stick with him?

I assume you mean Bush has a fumble and an int. Yes, you stick with him. Start yanking qb's in the first half of the first game and the season will be a disaster. No one else has shown much so far anyway.

I was on campus at the same time. I'm the same age as Kittner and he was in a few of my classes (Accounting).

I remember we had the longest losing streak in the country heading into the Middle Tennessee State game in 1998 when I was a Freshman. We stormed the field after the win and failed to take down the goal posts. We tried again later that year after beating Indiana and failed again.
