I hope we get Timme (pronounced " Timmy"). If we can't have the chief back, at least we be insensitive with signs and cheers of " Timmy" whenever he gets a bucket or blocked shot (I'm pro- chief fwiw):
And we know exactly how they feel.
That's a potent combo of coach and program.
In the long run nobody really cares about scandal, they care about winning. This program gets busted for hiring strippers and prostitutes for underage basketball recruits, followed up by getting "implicated in a broad bribery and corruption scheme outlined by federal investigators," involving funneling "$100k to the family of a recruit in exchange for his commitment." So how do they continue to find success on the recruiting trail?

Williamson was a "lock" to go to Kansas (6 CBs) then Braun commits to Kansas and, what, the next day or sooner Williamson goes to Louisville. Or did every one but me already see this link?
If I'm a 2019 recruit, why would I care about any of that? Besides perhaps jealously that I wasn't one of the beneficiaries.
To the extent any of that matters (and it doesn't), that was the program of Rick Pitino and Tom Jurich, neither of whom are there anymore.

Somehow Arizona just reeled in a 5* PG as well. Must be nice

#TwitterTuesday: Illinois & and its chances for a top-50 target, latest with Scottie Lewis, and the wildcards for Isaiah Stewart & Jaden McDaniels https://basketballrecruiting.rivals.com/news/twitter-tuesday-isaiah-stewart-illinois-scottie-lewis-more …
I don't expect the Illini to land a top-50 commitment at this point, but it's certainly possible. The two that they have the best shot with are
Terrence Shannon and E.J. Liddellas both prospects will visit the Champaign campus this weekend.
Illinois is in the final three for Liddell as Missouri and Ohio State remain in the hunt. No clear leader has emerged yet, so his recruitment looks to be a total toss-up.
Shannon, a top-50 wing that is taking a prep year at IMG this fall, just visited Texas Tech over the weekend and will return to his home state and see Illinois this weekend. I would say that Florida State is the team to beat, but his trip to the Illini could change some things. Shannon played with the same program team as
Ayo Dosunmu, Illinois’ star-studded freshman.
The Illini are also involved with Oscar Tshiebwe, Drew Timme and Kofi Cockburn but are fighting uphill battles on all three fronts.
Shannon and Liddell represent Illinois' best chance at a top-50 signee in 2019. For now, I say it there's a 50-50 chance that Brad Underwood’s crew leaves the fall with the signing of a top-50 prospect.

But wouldn't it matter if penalties were exacted or are expected? Such as no post season play. I am afraid I can't remember if any were or not. Or may still be coming? Has Louisville been penalized yet? Or expect to be?
They self-imposed post season play for a year which I'm not sure truly impacted recruiting. IMO, they should've had scholarships taken away.
I'd bet the latter, seems much more likely that Williamson is driving this than BraunYes, there may be some influence between those two recrutiments but we can't be sure what was the impetus. Maybe Braun going to KU prompted Williamson to go to Louisville, but it may also be that KU found out that Williamson had a change of heart and quickly moved to secure Braun. Both possible.
Greg, I am quite sure did attend Eureka for a time, however, just didn't graduate. No biggie.Greg went to Alabama Birmingham and played basketball for Gene Bartow and after about a 1 year transferred to SIU, played with brother Thad, my bad...
