Ayo vs THT. Hopefully the boys don't let the result from tonight take the energy out of them.

I think we win, but this matchup leaves a bad taste

We are winning out the rest of the way in Maui. This is a great team that’s definitely hasn’t the makings of a NCAA Tournament squad. We have a chance to pickup two more quality wins along the way and I don’t think Iowa State is gonna be ready for our pressure. ILL- 75 IST-67

Biggest worry is fatigue. But the Iowa St Zona game was also fast paced, so that’s not an excuse. They’re playing a lot of young guys too, so that’s not an excuse. They have some size but nothing scary like Georgetown or Gonzaga had, so that’s not an excuse. I think they also have a couple injuries.

If this team is actually different, if the culture has actually changed....then this has to be a win.

I think we come out and play with some fire. With all the young guys, these types of games (Gonzaga) help put a fire in their belly. It should carry over to Iowa St. The freshman wanna prove they belong on this stage. I expect a big game from Ayo.

If Illinois loses to Iowa State we as a fan base need to pack it in. They are 8 players deep right now.....missing their best scorer and post players. THT has been one of their best players but Babb and Shayok can go off if not handled approprately.

The schedule does us no favors and you get a bad feeling that tough game is gonna let the Zags beat us twice. It's gonna take big time energy.

Really interested to see the spread for this one. How much respect will Vegas give us for the close loss to the Zags? Guessing this will be close to a toss-up.

This is a must-win for a young team. 2-2 after two games at Maui is infinitely better for our confidence than 1-3, IMO. If we play like we did last night, we beat Iowa State. I'm worried we'll be tired, but this gives us a real chance to make a statement that we aren't just a team that can play super hard and scare anyone; we're a team that has the real potential to be consistent. I also have a funny feeling that if we beat Iowa State, we are able to win the next game, too. And guys, I know we aren't supposed to look ahead or whatever, but who wouldn't be happy with this, Georgetown loss and all?

W vs. Evansville
L vs. Georgetown
L vs. #3 Gonzaga (Maui)
W vs. Iowa State (Maui)
W vs. Xavier/SDSU (Maui)

3-2 going into the Big Ten/ACC Challenge matchup at Notre Dame is A-okay with me for this young team. :) Let's just get that win vs. the Cyclones, though; we'll need to bring it again!

Early season must win. Our wings need to step up and get buckets. Would like to see Damonte, Jones and Griffin get more PT.

Seems to me that these lines usually look a lot like the sabre-metric guys. KenPom says ISU by 6. We'll see if Nevada agrees.
