I'd love for him to sign up, but can someone tell me where the Kaden Archie vibbeeezzzzz are coming from?
My guess would be the rumors from a few weeks ago about a big 12 wing as a possible transfer target. Now that he has announced his intentions to transfer we think we can start to connect the dots.

Can’t say I am sold on BU...yet. But a Kofi-January addition might really make the difference we need to make things work. If we get both, with maybe another long wing, you have to figure it’s worth seeing what a full four years of BU can yield.

Yeah, definitely. If the current freshmen and Frazier all stay and you can add Kofi, January, Archie that has the makings of a very good team. Would still love to land Shannon on top of that, but that is what it is...

Am I the only one who is worried? A week ago we were a dumpster fire that couldn’t go lower. Now a 5 Star is about to commit?

What if the only way we can go lower involves adding penalties to our current situation?

I want to be wrong, but this board has taught me to look at every situation through “what’s the most Illinois thing that could happen” glasses.

They could be selling big men on what Giorgi and Leron have done under BU (and OA), but that wouldn't be very Illinois of them would it?

Gordon has so much baggage and so many issues it will be a surprise if any power conference program becomes interested.

Dont worry, Cuonzo hired Michael Porter Sr to get recruits. Why cant we? I also dont think the program is a dumpster fire. We have a few nice pieces that are young and inexperienced. As long as the kids can weather the storm, which so far seems like they are doing ok(Ayo interview)we will be a great team in a year or 2. Everyone knew this year would be tough to call(record wise).

If anyone is in the dark about Cart'ere Gordon just google or go to stltoday and you will see why he is an obstacle that we need to steer clear of...Multiple transfer's in high school and AAU and now at SLU....

NO THANK YOU !

I don't know. 2018 saw high level coaches caught directing cash payments to recruits and nothing has happened.

There has been a tweet from a recruiting service account saying crystal balls are trending that way and a commitment could occur soon, feels like one of those where there is buzz but ultimately goes quiet before a decision is announced.

Whelp, there's definitely some smoke on Kofi. If he does commit, I fear we're a placeholder, as signing day isn't til April. Hopefully, it's just Illini fan jitters. Or that he won't sign and just waits it out. No impetus for a 5 star to sign a LOI.

Some noise on the ether that January won't qualify. No idea if that's true, but wouldn't surprise me.

This article says there is a report that Archie is transferring to Illinois

Maybe it's because I'm in the midst of finishing my some dissertation edits, but "It’s being reported by Slater that Archie is transferring to Illinois" sandwiched between two generic descriptive paragraphs about the player is just lazy writing.

From what source is it being reported? Are you, article author Jeremy Clark, the source reporting this?

Perhaps I should be less pedantic interpreting a tabloid article on college basketball recruiting.
