Instead of quoting any one post, any poster who feels the need to criticize this team after tonight, need to save themselves the stress and heartache and just go cheer for a Blue Blood.

The past is the past, can't change it, we're coming from the worst place Illinois basketball may have ever been. The hottest team in the BIG regardless of overall record, playing more Fresh/Soph than anyone else, just lost on the road by 6 to the #22 team in the country.

Sub par shooting night, great effort on the other end, this team CONTINUES to grow, love this team, so excited for the future of the program!

Our offense was mediocre at best, but I swear there was like a 6 minute period stretch in the middle of the second half where we getting called for off ball fouls every 30 seconds.

The most disappointing part of the game was hearing that Wisconsin has won the last 15 games in this series.

This game has NOTHING to do with ref's...we should have won simply put...execute and I honestly think we could have won by nearly double digits on the road.

Trent layups
Trade off 3's
Turnover at the end
4-5 bad early 3 shots

Illini fouled as much as Wisky, they just made some plays that our young guys haven't quite mastered yet.

I'd always tell my team, you gotta kick their !!! so bad the refs don't matter. But tonight the refs mattered.

A little frustrating given how close we were to stealing this...missed block out (Giorgi) and Ayo and others missed open shots at end. Need more touch on finishing at basket, Still saw alot of positives....steals, off boards, Happ Defense. We clean up round the rim shooting and we will be a tough out in BTT.

I think it's pretty amazing that in 2 games against them, we have held Happ to a combined 15 pts. That's impressive. We also lost both games. Maybe if we happen to face them in the BTT, we should try shutting down the other 4 guys and let Happ get his

One we could’ve had for sure. I thought we played sped up on offense. Not sure why, we just looked like we weren’t comfortable or patient. Disappointing but you expect to lose games like this on the road. I’m not complaining about the refs, but wow what a difference from early in the season. They let so much go that they were calling early. Probably benefits us more than not imo.

It’s disappointing to lose this one. Especially when we have some chances at the end. But, honestly what we are seeing now with this team is what I have been hoping for several years. Go on the road and compete against a good opponent. We were in this game until the end.

Now there is an expectation that we go into each game with a good shot at winning. I don’t expect perfection. It’s fun again to know we are going to be competitive going into each game.

If we keep this team next year along with gaining Kofi, we are a top 3 Big 10 team.

1. We didnt lose because of reffing, but the reffing was terrible and had some momentum changers. Wisconsin gets more home cooking than any Big 10 team.
2. We lost because of lousy o and missed bunnies.
3. I like where this team is going but dont understand why we took out Griffin when he scored 5 straight points and was active on d. Hopefully, he keeps developing on O and D becuase I see a dangerous player by time he is a junior. Hopefully, Tevian keeps developing.
4. De La Rosa while been solid lately was not very good for a stretch at one point.
5. Excited where program is heading as long as no set backs.

Ayo, Trent, & Feliz 8-30 = not going to win against anybody.
And yet, they, really, could have, almost did. Things are going the right direction. Have 4 of 5 very winnable games, beat Purdue and could run it from here. Will be important to see how they rebound at home against a sneaky tough PSU.

Still, without a collapse, will rest Weds, play as a 7-9 seed in the BTT (who knows from there), get to beat IND and NW in front of a home crowd. Hey, life is good.

This game was ours to win. Down by only 2 at the 49 second mark and we force Pritzl into a poor 3 point attempt, except Giorgi does not even come close to boxing out the far side rebound. Reuwers grabs the rebound and scores a layup. Can one dream that we get that rebound and come down and hit a 3 and #WeWIN. It was that simple.

It was that simple. Man... We honestly almost had this one. Such small things. Correctable things.

Anyone else getting tired of seeing Trent try and double clutch and contort his body every time he goes up for a layup? Just go straight up and lay it in (and also stop avoiding contact when defense is in the lane). Obviously Frazier hurt his ankle, but in general, this was his worst game in a long time. Ayo forced way too many shots tonight and didn't let the game come to him. YET, even with our two best players with off nights, we still almost beat a solid Wisconsin team on the road. Can't help but be impressed with our team, the effort, and the future of the program.

Not bad. Ayo and Giorgi had some freshman moments, Trent missed some bunnies. No one member of the team stands out as killing us, but just didn't make enough shots.

We could be Top Ten team in the country next year if we get more consistency from the freshmen and sophomores on the roster and a commitment to defensive intensity 40 minutes a game like we've seen the past month. Real excited to see what Damonte, Griff, Jones, and hopefully Kane and Kofi turn into next year to replace Jordan and De La Rosa. We could be looking at our most talented squad and highest powered offense since 2005 if Ayo comes back. If Giorgi gets a 3 point shot going, we could really be cooking.

The refs didn't decide the game...but it never ceases to amaze me the kind of calls they get at home. Giorgi should've had an and-1, instead they called it on the floor. Iverson was falling out of bounds and they gave him a timeout. 2 blatant missed calls right in front of the refs face.
And iverspn travelled on the play, too.

So do we beat Wisky next year without Happ? He’s their best player, but both times we played he’s been shut down.

And closed a 5 point gap to down just one point late 2nd half. Highlight of the game, Trent, Ayo, Georgi, Tev and Griffin playing a very meaningful stretch together late in the game. Tough loss. Bright future

my best take from the game was in the second half when I yelled "get it to the veteran" and they did and frazier bounced in a three and I jumped off the couch. I had to explain to my sister that "the veteran" was a sophomore. Yes, the future looks brighter than it has in a long time.

They had FOUR freshman and a sophomore on the floor at the SAME TIME at one point during the game. Lighten up!

LOL, he’d be elected leader of Italy and be furious they weren’t up to par with the Roman Empire on day one. Of course the long term expectation is higher than what we have done this season, but perspective matters. Some people don’t have it. This team is going to be good next year ... like Top 25 good.

Based on the past month, this team is already Top 25 good (Katz had them as 28 in his power rankings). I think next year we could get into top 10-15. Hopefully we schedule a easier schedule that allows this team to get is swagger earlier in the year than this year.
