Game Thread: Illinois vs Northwestern

It feels odd to be disappointed being up by 12 at halftime. Northwestern played as bad as you could possibly play shooting 28% FG & 7.7% from 3. That horrendous and yet we only lead by 12. Still feel confident we win, but it would've been nice to already have this game closed out.

I’ll take an alum with a little homerism over Bardo’s constant quest to prove he hates the Illini every time.
Northwestern is playing so bad, and i’m enjoy It. Illinois could be taking advantage of it a little more, but there’s still a whole half to play. Step on their throats. Completely break their spirits for the rest of the season.

Agree. I don't every feel like Bardo hates the illini. He just really tries to be impartial b/c that's his job.
Not saying he actually hates his school, but he goes out of his way to try to prove how unbiased he is, to the point of coming across biased against Illinois. Probably best exemplified by when they showed his orange and blue tie on Flying Illini night, and he quickly reacted by exclaiming “that’s the only time you’ll ever see that” or something to that effect - making sure to reassure the audience he doesn’t root for us when announcing.
He just tries too hard, that’s all.
And this is EXACTLY why I was concerned with us only being up 12 at halftime.

Where is Trent?
I don't get the bad second half starts. It's been there almost every game.
Trent & Ayo could really learn a lot from Feliz and how he attacks the rim and uses his body to create contact. Feliz initiates the contact which allows him to keep his balance and often finish. Ayo and Trent typically try to avoid contact (ESPECIALLY Trent). Our team would be so much harder to defend if this were the case.

Jordan does SO much. Taking the Law charge. Just one of the few hundred things he does all game.
At some point it's on the staff. Try something different.

Nice little stretch for Kip. His ability to hit the elbow jumper keeps their big from being able to sag down in the lane for cutters. Giorgi needs to add that shot next year.

I just do not understand how teams cant do anything against us offensively and then just go lights out. NU with 25 points in 1st 10 mins of 2nd half.
