Do you really think we're a legit contender for a top 5 guy? Who isn't from Illinois, no less.
I think it depends a lot in how this upcoming season goes. I think Underwood has a plan and part of that plan is to be in the top half of the Big Ten and make a run in the NCAA Tourney. Then see Ayo go top ten in the draft. Do that. The top recruits will take notice.

It’s been 9 years since a top 5 (247 composite) recruit signed with any Big Ten team. I’m not sure a tourney appearance and lottery pick get us within sniffing distance of a top 5.

Very well done. Thanks. Did Maurice Calloo make his OV on 4/13/2018?? Also, I think we determined that Jason Jitoboh never made it on 10/11/2018. And finally Dima Zdor was shown the door, right??
Someone commented that Calloo, Sow, and Jitoboh never made their visits, so I updated with that info. I can't say I know about Zdor, but I think he was shown the door lol.

Would make it that much more sweeter if it happens now wouldn't it ? I have no problem whatsoever with Underwood swinging for the fences. As a matter of fact I absolutely positively love it! GO ILLINI!! 🏀

Is that true?! That's incredible if true

It says a lot about the recruiting muscle at schools like Kentucky and Duke, which are known to have strong boosters. I expect it would take an unusual confluence of positive events (for us) to get on good footing. While we have taken down some barriers to MIF recruits, I expect an uphill climb on any elite recruit. Hope the staff reads this one well and has a chance.

Kouma in today for an OV. Still not NCAA cleared. So today is Tillman and Kouma on OV's and Foster, the highest rated visitor of all time, all at same time. Do we own enough golf carts??

Romeo Langford was #5 in RSCI, but your broader point is accurate and very interesting. I took a look at the past ten years of RSCI rankings. Here's who landed the Top 5 kids over those years:

Duke 12
Kentucky 10
Kansas 3
Arizona 3
UCLA 3
UNC 3
Baylor 2
Cal 2
Texas 2
Florida 1
Ga Tech 1
Indiana 1
LSU 1
Miznoz 1
Pitt 1
SMU 1
Tenn 1
tOSU 1
Washington 1

The college basketball world will be very happy when K retires.

So that post on the front page makes it look like Kouma Is on campus for good and is cleared to play. Even though we just heard yesterday is not. Anybody have any idea what’s going on

Outside of a handful of programs, those commitments, when they happen, are typically, like lightning strikes. Almost impossible to predict.

Kouma either graduated yesterday or last week sometime based on an interview with Underwood. Kouma and BB (Benjamin Bosmans-Verdonk) seem to be in very similar situations as BB also graduated within the last week. Waiting on NCAA Clearinghouse at this time, as late graduations can be tough to work with getting players cleared in a timely manner for summer workouts.
