Illinois 77, Nebraska 72 OT Postgame

I don't get it. It just seems like we don't give it our best at times. It's like our attitude is "we can win it in the last minute."

Can't sugar coat that potential disaster.

Take the W and burn the film.

Can we be penalized in the rankings for a win?

I disagree. If you think we aren't going to have a game like this in the tourney....you haven't been watching the tourney.

BU says it all the time...gotta win when it isn't going in for us...and it is for them. Sometimes in bad ways. We locked down the D when it mattered and the NPOY drove the final nail.

Learn from it and stay motivated.

Yes, but GB was horrible tonight.
Agreed - but Kofi can't play 20 minutes in a row. He played 39 minutes tonight - almost every minute of the 2nd half and OT. Hawkins, BBV, somebody to play D and give him a blow. It's not like Nebby had a stud that couldn't be stopped by one of those guys.

I’ve worn this shirt 4 games in a row

W, W, W, W....it could be the lucky one this year....

My feelings on curbelo is that if he can develop a shot then then he wouldn’t have to force pressure which causes turnovers that’s all he should do IMO he’s good under pressure when defenders go to him not when he goes to defender

Kofi was completely gassed the last 15 minutes of that game - and consequently ineffective. 3 front rim free throws in a row. Underwood needs to get Hawkins or Giorgi some tick just to let Kofi get a blow. Our 2nd half was like an iron 5.
Problem here is Giorgi can’t even stay on the floor. What did he play 5 min with 3 fouls (1 being a tech), I think Hawkins may need to play some 5 for us. GB is really struggling now.

5 points total off the bench
7 of 21 from deep
one starter=zero points

I'm going to "like" this only because that's the only option to react to a post. I don't really like it, rest assured.

We play up or down to our competition. We've done that all season. The tougher the opponent the better we play.

I understand but Nebraska won't be in the tourney. If we play like this in the tourney we lose by 10+.

Game is moving way too fast for him. He's rushing everything. I think when he settles down his FG% will go up.

Sometimes I wonder if Ayo just doesn't coast early, even if subconsciously, to make the last few minutes interesting. Like he is addicted to the rush of tight games at the end.

Glad to see that Hawkins showed up strong. Curbelo is still making bad decisions too often.

Coach has to solve that one.
The fact that Curbelo was smiling and laughing immediately after several first half TOs and mistakes really got my goat.

For a while there I thought that I was going to see a classic " some goof from Iceland goes off for a career high and torched Illinois for the win"
scenario all too familiar from past losses.

Not this year.
Thanks Ayo.
