AM did a solid job of turning himself into a pretty good defender. Could never seem to fit his offense into anything consistent, would just disappear for stretches of games. Would have been option 1 on O next year if he stayed. Maybe he wanted to be PG going forward and realized it wasn't going to happen.

Transferring when you're a starter as a freshman because the freshman coming off the bench might get more shine than you is pretty much the definition of not accepting your role on the team.
Dude has been given every opportunity to succeed here, with even more opportunities coming up in the coming season. People have a right to be a little peeved I'd say.

Seriously. Team chemistry seems like it’s officially a thing of the past in college. And anyone who doesn’t get everything they want every second they want will hold the coach hostage. I get enough of this at home with my teens. Nice to have it graduate to the beloved.
This makes no sense unless he feels he is being Creaned and guys are transferring in.
Getting in bed with Mac Irvin may have been a mistake. Their “official” Twitter account trashes Underwood and now this. Yikes.

Creaned does not equal just being recruited over. Creaned means being recruited over to the point that there's no longer a spot for you on the roster and your scholarship is basically pulled.
Then you don’t have 3 years of Ayo and MIF didn’t have really anything to do with AM transferring.
Seriously. Everything he was saying was about just getting started with the Illini and going back to work. Now this? What a soft move if he was that scared of losing his spot. Unbelievable.

I am so curious who is in his ear about this, b/c he's been busy tweeting about being blood cousins with DJ this past year + repping Dee Brown and Peoria and on and on. Seemed fully bought in to Illinois and playing a role this year and then a bigger one next year. Maybe there was something that made him think his role wouldn't be bigger next year?

Nick Irvin is a scummy politician that’s upset because he doesn’t have a spot on the Illini coaching staff. 
Does he though? Curbelo is great at getting ball into post, but I think one of his weaknesses was driving and not hitting wing players right away. Miller might not feel he’ll get usage with Curbelo dominating the ball. I think Curbelo will expand his ability to distribute at all levels, but we also talk about him improving his ability to shoot — and I would guess shoot more. By all reports, Miller wants to be the man. Maybe he doesn’t feel that will happen playing with Curbelo. Definitely sucks though.
Brad Underwood spends a year unteaching the debacle that is MIF basketball and Morgan Park basketball.
Maybe we can add a couple former Meanstreets players and strengthen that relationship.

I could see AM going to somewhere like Miami. He'd be "the guy" and still get national spotlight. Don't know the kid, but it's obvious he has an image he wants to keep up. Wish him nothing but the best. Next man up.
