I am devastated. This stings as bad as the Loyola lost. I really do think Adam was starting to show better glimpses of a 3 level scorer. particularly in the mid range game. I think people here are undervaluing what he did for the year versus what he's actually capable of doing. I was expecting him to make a huge sophomore leap and now I just hope it isn't for a conference foe.

Yeah...really. I'm the same guy who considers Nunn an Illini forever. No sour grapes here...forgive and be forgiven.

I believe if you wear Orange and Blue and work your tail off for the "I", I believe you earn the right right to be "Illini forever" whether its 1 or 4 years.

AM has his own reasons for trying something new,...I'm certainly not going to hold a grudge against a teenager who may not recognize how good he had it until later in life. I expect that may be the case here, but still wish him the best and future success wherever he lands.
I agree he should do what’s best for him. That does not make him an Illini for life. It makes him an Illini for approximately 7 months.

This is the key point. And a teenager who is likely being swayed by the adults closest to him to take certain actions that may or may not be with his best interest in mind. If my parents were in my ear every day pushing me to change schools after my first year in college b/c they felt I would find a better "fit" elsewhere or "excel" somewhere else, I can't say for certain I would've been able to say no, so I certainly am not going to judge another. I can still think it's a bad decision for him, but its not my life to live and deal with the consequences.

This disqualifies Ayo from Illini forever if he jumps to NBA:
"An Illini forever is someone that puts school loyalty over personal gain and stays for all eligibility he has as an Illini.."
OK....you got me there on a technicality....yep, you got me....

I should have said stays an Illini for the time they stay in college....

But, I think you know what i meant......

Also, if a player leaves for the draft and NBA, I believe he loses his eligibility , doesn't he ????

You think AM is an Illini forever....Myself and others don't....fair enough

Coleman Hawkin’s dad on Twitter posted “Roster experts.” Any clue what this means? Hoping for something positive.

Maybe he thinks he could he the next Ja Morant if he goes to the right school and has the right coach and situation instead of being overshadowed and/or over powered at Illinois or the big10

He's also not wrong about this.

to be the next Ja Morant, you gotta be one of the best players in the country. Ja would have been just as dominant in the big 10. Miller could get there if he works and gets better. Could have done that for us. not like he was fighting for minutes. Makes no sense.

This is obviously a relatively minor thing in all this, but unless I've missed it, he hasn't issued any kind of statement thanking the coaches, teammates, or fans, right? That seems to be the customary thing to do, but I haven't seen anything like it? The decision is obviously bizarre, and so is the way he's going about it. Maybe he wasn't happy with his role but I think it's clear his coaches, teammates and fans were behind him and tossing some recognition in that direction on your way out the door costs exactly $0.00.

That doesn’t make sense, Curbelo compliments his game. Gets him open looks...
I agree! And Ayo and Trent played off each other the same way! This was gonna be Adam Miller's and Andre Curbelo's year to run the team and dominate! And he played well in the Loyola game!
