Tyler won’t be getting AC3 or assistant to the head coach spot. I don’t believe it’s Ivey either.

Gotta be Randle or Anderson at this point, right. Otherwise it someone we haven't heard much about.

If it's Randle, we might be looking at a mid-July announcement.

I should probably also apologize to some posters that were on the Randle/"must be a former Illini" bandwagon from the jump.

If Randle, assume he would work with the 3, 4 and 5s on the roster?
If Randle, hopefully the Suns keep it going and he gets a ring. Nothing like showing off some new jewelry on a recruiting visit.

I would bet on the latter one there. Also Tyler will be hired in some sort of role just not sure what.
Well if the announcement is shortly after the combine we will have a pretty good idea of who it is. If not you gotta think it's Randle

has randle ever been mentioned outside of this board?

also, can someone clarify the timing holdup with Anderson?

Randle jus aligns with the timing issue of everything as does Anderson. AAU and other obligations are the hold up for Anderson
When would Anderson be available? If he's working with prospects I assume it wouldn't be until after the draft or at the earliest after the combine.

Is there any reason to be excited about hiring Anderson? I'm looking at this guy's resume, and having trouble finding anything that gets my attention.

I guarantee that Rees Woodcock has brought him up at some point, though I would put zero stock in anything he writes.

Anderson's going to be an incredible hire.

He got the likes of Bynum, Reed, Weems and a few other top prospects to commit to a crap Depaul team that's been bottom of the barrel for a decade.

On top of that he owns an NBA training business that has some of the current top prospects and past NBA stars go through it. There are some big names he's currently training that have been rumored to enter the portal if they drop out of the draft process.

He's connected and going to be a home run hire. Add in Nick Irvin on waiver to recruit for us while Anderson has these other obligations and watch us be solidified in Chicago and the NCAA as a powerhouse. 22-24 classes are insane in Chicago.

Anderson is already recruiting in his own way. Just not publicly.

EXTREMELY tied in with Streets and also is the founder of Ground Zero Training and in the last 7 years, they have had like 30 guys get drafted.

Known to not be afraid to operate in the dark gray. He was named in the FBI probe for paying Bowen.

If Brad can get Irvin and Anderson both on this staff, that would be something! Let Nick take over for Tyler while Anderson is doing his thing with Ground Zero and hopefully Anderson can bring one or two guys with him that opt to hit the portal.

Wait, am I or am I not supposed to be excited about this part?

He’s been brought up by nearly every reporter that covers the Illini beat. Of course we all know they come here for their info.

Hopefully we are now in this brave new world where BU, JW and the Illinois administration CAN and WILL tell the NCAA to go pound sand, but if not, it would take about 5 minutes of that type of recruiting before the NCAA would happily come calling to distract from 6 years of doing nothing to Kansas, Arizona, UNC, etc.

Did I miss something, I thought the smoke surrounding us hiring Irvin had gone away last month.
