Didn't have much to do with hockey, but that's easily one of my favorite Shaw moments.

If Shaw had watched a little more EPL he would have known the proper play was to head that back towards the middle for Toews to clean up. ;-)

Great career and excellent contributor on two Cup-winning teams. Hope he has a healthy future!

If the Flames win today, the Hawks move up to 11th. Normally, wouldn't be that big of a deal. But I have a hunch it will this year: there's definitely going to be a projected top 10 kid fall, if not several (Wallstedt, Johnson, Lysell, Lucious). Hawks are going to get a VG prospect with their 1st.

I'm expecting Reichel to sign an ELC shortly after the WCs. He'll be in Rockford next season, unless he blows the staff away in pre-season.

Shalunov could be a big add. I have Borgstrom penciled in as 3C. Of course, the biggest question is the Captain's status.

Flames did us a major solid, we're picking 11th now. Don't think we need a goalie and don't believe in using a first to take one. That said, gonna defer to the scouting department here. Hoping for Johnson or Lysell, but I reserve the right to change my mind, lol.

12th best odds - Seattle gets 3rd or 4th best odds, I believe

Hawks' legend Duncan Keith traded to the Oil today (so he can be closer to his son). 1st ballot HoF-er, for sure.

It's going to be awful watching Keith skate around in another uniform, but the video tribute is going to be pretty awesome when he returns to the UC.

It's just so hard to figure out where this team is headed. I guess we'll know more after the expansion draft and free agency.

it’s gonna be like watching Jordan playing in a Wizards jersey

not good . sad day imo.
Sentimentality wise, 100%. That said, this was a great trade for the Hawks. $5.5M cap hit for 2 years gone. Poof! That's flipping huge. And they aren't going to be a contender this season and probably next too.

11th OA and Beaudin for Seth Jones (contingent on an extension): who says no?

Columbus would want more than that

I don't have a problem with the trade - Keith asked for it and the return is quite good considering the situation. That said, I have trouble getting excited for the near-term future. If we're not going to be a contender this year (agreed) and probably next (ugh), we've wasted 5+ years of prime Patrick Kane. I haven't seen enough from the youth on this team, particularly on D, to think adding a high-priced free agent like Hamilton or trading valuable assets for Jones and signing him to a big deal is really going to move the needle.

I think Stan said it best during the glory years - it's the bad teams that get excited about having cap space.

I am very interested to see what CBJ finally gets for Jones. I won't be upset if we lose that sweepstakes.

I have been a life long Blues fan ever since they came into the NHL with the expansion back in the late 60's........Went to a lot of games at the Checkerdome usually waiting for tickets to the BlackHawks games......There were as many fights in ths stands as there was on the ice....great times...great hockey//

Bobby Hull and Stan Mikita were so great....I admired them even as they were members of the dreaded Blackhawks team.....

The old Norris division......Black and Blue division....

Duncan Keith , to me , represented the same level of opposition to the Blues that Stan and Bobby did years ago , but it's hard to compare players from those era's as the game is so much faster and players more skilled individually than in the past...

Remember the Broad Street Bully's ?........Philly Flyers ,,,,,,,bare knuckled hockey every game /////whew

Sorry , I just had to chime in and get away from the Kofi decision for a bit.....carry on
