One source alleged that Calipari never even spoke directly to Kofi.... Something something head coaches don't talk to recruits.

Don't get me wrong, I'm sure most of it was done through Chin and Orlando, but I'm calling BS that Cal was never in the background on FaceTime or that he was never passed the phone.

Legit question. I don’t know what Kofis going to do and not trying to predict based on the theoretical answer to this question, but I’m genuinely curious.

NIL $$ aside and skill development aside, does Kofi have a better chance at being an All American and National Player of the year at Illinois or Kentucky?

I say Illinois bc he will be the face of the program (yes even with Belo here), and we did a great job highlighting and marketing Ayo. Kofi would get the same treatment this season.
I don’t think he becomes the “face” of any other top program. And that’s not just because of the players surrounding him. Part of its continuity and building a legacy at one program etc.
I agree, and we already know that both Kofi and Curbelo can be highlighted, just as Kofi and Ayo were. I just wonder if Tim Anderson if factoring into the decision? If Kofi needs help with skills other than the ones he has already learned, wouldn't the guy who trains players for the NBA, and has success doing so, be the one you gravitate toward?

I feel like we have been down this road/ride too many times lately.

Weren't we a lock for Garcia just last week before UNC threw some crazy offer out?

I don't like knowing that slimeball 1,2, and 3 still have 48 hours to navigate a change to this situation.

Who knows, FSU may have come up with a strong a$$ offer too
My feelings also, but who knows. How tf did FSU get in there?

Yes, but the big difference here is this is being positioned as actual "reporting" (vs. message board/tweet innuendo) and it is coming from the other side.

Also, if you read the KSR article, it's really damning with faint praise when it comes to Kofi/UK's interest. That's not the type of thing you let out there if you're expecting a last-minute reversal.

Not that this would factor into any player with confidence, but I feel like there would be a lot of pressure on Kofi if he goes to Kentucky. The expectation might be that he needs to show the change was worth the switch, and not become just another cog in Calipari's machinery. If he didn't dominate there, his decision would be questioned over and over again, when it's common knowledge he would be the featured player (along with Belo) at Illinois.
