I would put Plummer in the starting five - we lack scorer if both DMW and Grandison on court.
And what worries me now is... can we give enough time to the 3 freshmen to persuade them staying in the next transfer portal? I think they are talented boys and would definitely look for opportunities if they cannot find here
DMW is gonna average double digits this year. He can flat out shoot.

I see Damonte and Plummer as gunners off the bench. DW settled in well to that role. I loved the Plummer addition. I just see him creating issues defensively with our other starters, as others have pointed out.

Hutch is an enigma. I almost never predict a player starting with such unknown talents. I think his length/athleticism will be needed. I believe he starts at the 3.

Grandison is one of those gritty players that the stat sheet doesn’t favor. He does the little things needed when you have stars on the team. Unless Hawkins, who I am very high on, makes a huge jump I do not see JG being dethroned from the 4 spot.

Hopefully the Freshman look at the bigger picture. There will be huge holes to fill for them after this upcoming season.

Who is on the floor at the end of the games nearing March will be much more interesting to me.

One reason I like your lineup prediction is it gives us a little more size. Curbelo and Frazier is a short backcourt

My guess is Curbelo, Frazier, Hutch, Grandison, Kofi at the start of the year, and then an absolute dogfight for the starting spot at 3 and 4 for the rest of the year. Frazier and Damonte bring defensive intensity and both willing to set their egos aside to help the team means we may see Plummer step into the 2 spot, Damonte moving to 3 or 4 for defensive stops in tight/end game scenarios. Whiffing on Garcia and Mitchell, but bringing Kofi back has given Hawkins a huge opportunity to grow into a role as a 4 with size that can stretch the floor, a role I think he is well suited for. Then we have the wildcard freshman, who can really focus on 3 and D roles to earn playing time; Goode has great size and outside shot, Melendez seems to be a wiley cutter who can hit the 3, and Podz seems like a hard worker who could really excel at the 2 moving forward, especially if he takes the opportunity to learn from his elders on the defensive end.

Curbelo
Frazier
Hutch
Damonte
Kofi

The Hutch and Damonte starting spots will rotate at some point. Scary how deep this team is. Kofi coming back not only puts us at final four potential but also will help big time with recruiting. Brad is building a powerhouse.

I love the insight. I was hoping we could snag a transfer as a 3/4 to complement Kofi, but tbh I'm elated we ended up with Kofi in the end. Grandy will slide over nicely in the role until AJ Casey commits🤞

On the one hand, I think we are dramatically underrated. On the other, I'm elated that we are in a position to once again be annoyed with #15 being too high.
Can't even take the prediction that seriously. Parrish admits he had no idea what our roster looked like when he assumed we didn't belong on his list. Even with Kofi's return, he's probably hedging a little bit because of the lingering effects from his previous questionable take.

Clearly he missed an Ayo-less Illinois beating Wisconsin and then completely obliterating Michigan. That was already a lite-version of our team next year (subbing Plummer and Payne for Miller and Giorgi, and then adding a ton of hungry depth to our guard rotation). The most insulting was his remark that even with Kofi he we weren't on his top 25 radar. What a clown.

Hunting for clicks/listens, perhaps.

I think Brandon Lieb is more likely to pass Kofi on the depth chart by the end of non-conference play.
Someone better tell Kofi that the Lieb NPOY campaign was started by @Whitewaterr.

Da’Monte is going to cash in his first four years of being the Glue-Guy-of-All-Glue-Guys to ball out his senior year and do whatever he damn well pleases. He has earned it.

Here's an odd poll question:

How will they announce all our Covid super seniors at the games? The roster calls them Seniors and Graduate in the case of Grandy. The same?

Just Senior?
5th Year Senior?
Super Senior?
Covid Senior?
Something else?

I know it's odd, but this IS the COVID make-up year after all.

Well, Hutch will definitely be "something else"
