Folks, lots of players get workouts with teams prior to the draft and don’t end up sniffing the league. Teams do their due diligence and explore all options. Giorgi won’t be an NBA’er but he’ll have a nice long career as a pro and whatever team he ends up on will be lucky to have him.

Wouldn’t surprise me if he hung round the g league and had the occasional cup of coffee and maybe catches on. Good wingspan, more athletic than he gets credit for and amazing footwork. He gets a consistent jump shot and improves his defense and he’s got a shot as a change of pace type player off the bench.
Giorgi has shown good range at time so I think the potential could be there.

I see him as a more athletic Larry Bird...Definitely more amazing footwork as well.

Ayo is in San Francisco working out for the Warriors. It’s interesting because they have the #7 and #14 picks. 🤔

There is a lot of talk about the Warriors trading down with at least one pick. I would not be surprised if they traded the #7 pick for something closer to #20, and a future 1st round pick. I also would not be surprised if they did a sign and trade with the #7 pick.

I noticed on the draft boards he’s comped to Jru Holiday

if that’s even remotely accurate that would be awesome for Ayo
Holiday has similar D flexibility to Ayo and can drive and shoot from range reliably. A decent comp, IMO.

Ayo a little taller and developed as a rookie. Holiday left UCLA after 1 yr in 09 as a 9 pt, 3.8 rbs, 3.7 asst, 1.8 steals freshman...picked #17 by Philly.

One thing with Giorgi is that he is elite as a personality/ team guy (I think). If you can have players the end of the bench who are great for team chemistry and get the minimum, don’t care if they play, that is desired IMO.
Big guy that can play a few spot minutes, a plus.

Can someone explain t me in terms that a non gambler would understand? He’s a good bet to not make the 1st round?
It says that whomever made the odds think it is slightly more likely Ayo is drafted later than the 24th pick in the draft. Also that Jake Miller believes Ayo will be picked later than 24 as well, based on mocks he has seen.

Really hope Ayo doesn't fall to the 2nd round, for most importantly his sake, but also for our programs sake. Parlaying great seasons with 1st round draft picks is how we keep this train rolling, 2nd rounders don't get the recruits nearly as excited.

-125 is “slightly”?

I believe USA Today’s latest mock (#5.0 and appears to be by Scott Gleeson) has Houston taking Ayo at #23 and Jared Butler at #24.

Could you link? I went through like 10+ mocks and not a single one had him outside the first round.
I saw it this morning here. I assume this is the one that was referenced by the original poster

Like you, I've pretty much only seen first round projections otherwise.
