peters might be better but only marginally
Art isn't confident in his arm which is what scares me. That isn't something you gain being thrown to the wolves like he would be this year. I would rather Art sit and gain confidence whole BP who is marginally better takes the beating and giving us the slightly better chance

Fair point. I appreciate the explanation, and it makes a lot of sense.

Petersen's not a Big Ten OC. The NFL hasn't been able to make Gardner Minshew look as ordinary as he did.

OC is the most important spot on the staff and take 1 was an F-minus-minus. So, he needs to be fired this offseason and the entire Bielema era likely rests on getting it right.

Was Bieliema able to recruit any talent for this years team? Because having a bunch of bad players back for a fifth year is not a plus to me.

Run for 3. Incompletion. Run for 2. 47 yard punt.

I’m not advocating starting Art but Peters has only showed a few flashes in his time here.

Argh. I was afraid you were going to say that. I agree, I agree unfortunately. Offense is underachieving all season.

Beckman never recovered from making the wrong hire to swap his OC after year 1. Lovie never recovered from failing to swap his OC after year 1.

Alright, I love McCray again. I’m so fickle.

You are acting like the Head Coach doesn't influence the plays being called.

You may be right but I saw nothing from Art to show potential to do better than BP. Maybe it happens but I’m thinking neither one puts us in a position to win. I have no faith in either of these two for the future.

Agreed Petersen was the worst of all the hires but he was also the first. He is a buffer and stable. We know he is going to run the ball and try to keep the D fresh. Not going to blow the doors off anyone, but a stable person for a program that needs stability as we build.

Good point. I remember being very unimpressed with his resume. It’ll be interesting to see how beilema reacts.

Thanks CG, I didn’t think I could feel any worse about Illinois football but you showed me.
