No one else besides Trent eanted the ball in thete hands. Still think Hutch can help, especially against bigger guards
Hutch in this game slows down Morsell and Hutch would have drew more fouls in the game. Its one game played on a hostile arena without Kofi and Hutch. We have a week to get everyone back and playing winning BB

I think Curbelos will got in his way tonight...thinking he will correct it soon!
Will not disagree and hope you are correct. My only concern is good coaching should be able to make adjustments with 10+ minutes to go in a game. Call a timeout, bench a player at some point to make a statement, something has to be done as opposed to hoping the team figures it out on the fly.

Quoted for truth.

As bad as they played they were in a position to win the game. Up one with 15-20 seconds left and you have an 80% FT shooter going to the line? Yeah I'll take that. Up one and you get a side out because of a kicked ball, shoot I'll take that too. You (general, not you specifically) can't say one team deserved to win and not the other because the game was completely altered by some incompetent refs.

I have decided to take solace in the fact that as poor as this team played tonight, which I guarantee will not happen this fashion again, Marquette was still only able to win by one. They must suck.
Good point, we have 24, 25, turnovers and still lose by only one point

I recall Curbello having a similarly bad game last year coming out of concussion protocol. Hopefully, he turns it around in similar fashion.

I love Underwood, but bad time management stuck out to me. 1) The timeout after CoHawk's putback dunk. Why? Maybe the guys needed a breather, but it was oddly timed and we had the momentum. 2) Why not call a timeout when we were up 1 with :31 left. You could get your best FT lineup in, run a solid inbounds play and get fouled. If not then, why not with :12 left to set up a play? (I get this allows the D to set up, but I would have taken my chances.

The "bench Curbelo" talk has got to stop. Please. You want Trent to play 40 minutes on a bum shoulder? DeMonte to bring the ball up? Plummer? No way. Ease up. It was bad. Real bad. But benching Belo is too public and for the fans only. It's not Coach's style. He'll get his licks from Underwood and Frazier in practice.

Would Kofi have made one point worth of difference? Probably.

But we made up for his absence really well, totally dominant on the glass and decent around the rim. It's those couple of BBV post ups becoming Kofi post ups that probably swing things.

But Marquette is terrible.

We're a double digit loss team, pretty much no chance of avoiding it.

We can't win a game against a good team with options of an out-of-control tilting Belo or a non-PG running the show. Easy pickings.
Learning experience. Step back from the ledge.

These post game replies....people relax! This was the first TRUE road game for this Sophomore class and add to that the fact that it's the first game, against legitimate D1 talent, that they've played without Kofi and Ayo. Curbelo clearly was out of sorts and was putting way, way too much on his own shoulders.

This is a team that is built inside out. The offense flows through Kofi, as it should. In his absence, they were flying a little blind.

This is a game they could have won, should have won, but didn't. If we were at full strength and 10 games in, fine, sound an alarm or two.

It's game three and we're adding one of the country's top players and the identity of that team back for game four.

A little perspective needed, though we're all a bit aggravated.

With 10 minutes to go we were up 10. Why would he want to change anything? (Maybe not sarcasm but tongue firmly in cheek)

I get the instinct to pin it on Underwood. The outcome was bad, but holy cow we had the ball up one with 31 seconds to go… and lost.
What was the mythical winning adjustment Unerwood should have made to have this be a comfortable win?

To me. That’s not an easy call because Belo is the type of player who can make 5 huge mistakes in a row and then make 5 amazing plays to win it for you. Tonight he just got 10 mistakes in a row instead. :)
If you bench him earlier in the sequence and allow him to reset, he can play those last few minutes without being on tilt like that. W.

The good news is we will add an all American to the roster for the next game. The bad news every single guy in the locker room needs to check their ego. The next best news is the bad news.

I mean…I was upset about the loss but this seems like a bit much.

Wondered if they were concerned he hit the ball for a delay of game and called a timeout quickly to avoid it. That was an odd timeout.
