Illinois 86, Rutgers 51 Postgame

That was AWSOME! I’m really fired up to see the progression this team makes this year. It’s been really good the last couple games , and that’s without a healthy team. Now they are getting healthy with a nearly full squad for practice. Watch out!

They are playing really good team basketball. On offense the ball doesn't stick. Great movement. Giving up good shots for great shots. Making good decisions, starting to gel very nicely. Think the dog mentality of TF and DMFW has rubbed off on all the boys on the defensive end too. Lovin it

I have been a Payne skeptic so far but he actually turned out good minutes this game. Good defense and rebounding. Probably will be the weakest front court in the B1G. Still… encouraging.

can we also give it up for Hawkins locking down RHJ?? That’s a lot of trust Brad put on him to just have Coleman guard him all game. You know beads gonna have some kind words for Hawkins in his press conference tonight

Payne played great tonight, hard in his role and its good to see. He will prove to be a valuable asset as the year progresses.

Hawkins is just now figuring out that he could be next level good.
I find that great to watch.

I think even Goode quietly had a pretty good game today too. Great to see that from game to game that at least he and Melendez seem to get some tick. Great to see it when the freshmen can get some time in.

Weakest front court in big ten and we have Kofi? Are you okay?

Coleman Hawkins has everything in his bag if he puts it all together. I was expecting Damonte on Harper but Brad went with the length and closing ability. He probably gets the Keegan Murray assignment Monday and after that showing against Harper you have to like it.
Watching the Iowa-Purdue game and Keegan Murray is out with an ankle sprain from the Virginia game. Will he be back or 100% by Monday
