I’m gonna be there with the family way up HIGH in my usual seats. Praying we don’t get the 8 to 12 inches of snow that they are predicting. I don’t feel like driving an hour home in that BS

Trent gets livid with Brad when he takes him out in practice. The dude doesn't know how to spell rest LOL.
I love that in a player. I've never understood this tugging on your shirt to be subbed out. There was a player from my home town that played so hard that after the games his teammates would have to carry him up the steps of the gym so he could get to his car. He wasn't the best player on the team but his hard work payed off. He scored the game winning basket in an Illinois state championship game on a feed from a 1st team all stater.

Davis is leading their team in points, assists, and rebounds. Guarantee BU throws a lot of different covers at him, but agreed that DMW will likely be the primary defender.

Davis is 6'5 so I agree it seems to make the most sense for DMW to get the matchup. Davis can get to the rim and shoot from 3 but his best weapon is his midrange pull up. Hes currently taking 17 shots a game and only 4.4 are from 3. Both Trent and DMW are good at taking away space but having Damonte's length could make a difference. Honestly I'm not worried about Davis, he's going to score no matter who is covering him. The key is to make him take a lot of shots to get his and not let him get others involved.

The games all count equal, but some are more equal than others. Or something like that. Gotta protect home court (unlike Purdue) and our remaining schedule is tougher than Wisconsin's so it’s a huge game. Really hope Belo is back for at least limited minutes. Kofi seemed a bit slower than normal tonight to me so hopefully he’s feeling full strength too. I don’t want another nail biter!
This is the key...........as we have a tough road ahead.

I’m glad that the team will get four days of practice in before this one. It would be wonderful to get some minutes from Belo. Who does coach put on Davis?
I would guess Williams or Frazier. I'd prefer Williams because he's bigger and stronger and is a plus defender. Plus he gets a lot of rest on the offensive end:) That tip dunk of his last night was amazing. I didn't realize he has those kinds of hops.

But...but...I'm confused....I thought DFW was getting way too many tics....that we would be much better off playing the freshmen....cause you know we'd be better next year. I mean he only scored 2 pt against the mild cats....com'on man

After all we went through during our lost decade-plus, I try to take every possible moment just to appreciate that we're playing in these big time meaningful business end of the season games.

It's gonna be fun to watch and we deserve that.
Love the positivity from Gritty. The end of this season is gonna be a hell of a ride and I'm excited to see what happens.

Opinions come wrapped in emotions based on what side of the coin you profess to be on .........This subject of DMW and his role and worth to the team has been an ongoing drama for far to long to sway anyone from their feet in concrete belief's.......I don't see the value in praising or berating DMW above or below where his true effect is on the program .......

I value highly DMW and his grit and experience .....Do I think he should score more ?......maybe .........maybe not.......The idea of him driving and getting trapped on the baseline is not conducive to winning ...But his true net worth is in the W-L record of the Illini and if he had any impact on winning or losing a game ........I can't remember his play causing us to lose a game , but my memory isn't as it was years ago......
But , I do remember his play and the effect it has had on winning games .....last night is the latest example of his contribution to the win ....

You can't just single out the putback dunk as the winning play as much as you could say Podz 3 pter was the winning shot .....They are a part of the team win that when you add up all the plays we either win or lose based on the entire game stats.................

For me , DMW is a winner and I want winner's on the court as much as possible .......This is just my opinion and I feel strongly about it , as I feel strongly about the opposing opinions stated ......it's called a discussion , but as usual, snarkiness has entered the picture and stopped all attempts to discuss rationally .....

Come on folks , we won last night ....didn't we ?........bask in the glory of 1st place in the wild and woolly B1G............................We are in a good place ....
let's put aside the chippyness and agree we need all the players on the squad ................................

JMHO

Davis is 6'5 or 6'6. DMW may have to guard him. Or one of the freshmen.

I also think DMW will guard him most of the time. Plus, as we all know, Wisconsin loves to run actions that get their guards in the post against smaller players. If Trent is on him they will run that all day long for Davis. Trent can take Davison completely out of the game.

Tyler Wahl could be a problem for us. Guarding true PFs is probably our weakest spot on defense. Wisconsin fans have been pretty disappointed with him in the past but he's stepped up this year. If he starts rolling we might have to move DMFW to him and Trent on Davis.
