Yep, as much as people are giddy about being in first place, we haven't really gotten a great win to our name. I'd argue at Iowa might be our best. We've had two home games that could have been signatures and we came up short.

This teams has a lot to prove yet. Hopefully we get healthy and play like the preseason top 10 team we were. But we're pretty far off from that.

At the same time, there's really no great team in the conference as the scores over the first half of the season are showing.
So Michigan State doesn't count? They're the #10 team in the country.

I'll trust Underwood's judgement. He got us to 22 wins out of 25 games, didn't he? I'll take him over, with all due respect, people who aren't him.
Well, there's that, of course, but then again [checks notes] he can't entice his top assistants to stay with us; he's too stubborn to press or play zone; he won't call timeouts in a timely fashion; he refuses to diagram clever plays out of timeouts on the rare occasions when he calls one; he can't win second-round tourney games; and he can't make in-game adjustments.

So, I dunno. I mean, can we really trust his lineup decisions?

This game is hugh. Wisc is a very good team, better than MSU. If we win this, it will be our biggest win if th year so far.

I had to read this twice. Altgeld, you gotta add the /s when you toe the sarcasm line so closely.

p.s., The Curbelo Hug GIF and the Dancing Weber GIF are my all-time favorites.

Let take from tlaiecfirst place outright and fill and support our beloved. I thought I'd share so we can have more illini fans close to the floor that the ticket office released some old A section tickets sec 106. By the player entrance tunnel this afternoon ..Let's fill em with iliini fans not the sticking badgers! I got mine.

I wouldn't set expectations too high for Belo. If he plays at all, I wouldn't expect much after a week with the rona. Not saying he won't surprise us, but I wouldn't hope for 20 minutes again.

I would second this. I had symptoms on New Years Eve so I got tested and tested positive. When I went to bed on Saturday night - I really don't remember anything until that next Tuesday, as I was awake for probably a total of three hours. I still felt groggy for about a week after that as well. Granted he is way younger than I am, and in much better physical shape - and everyone reacts different to the virus as well.

He was also just getting back into game shape just when the Rona hit.
I finally caught it a couple weeks ago, main symptoms only got me for a day but the exhaustion was relentless for a good week afterwards.
Good news still being that we will be ridiculous once we hit our full strength stride.

I just hope that happens. I think we can play with anyone if everyone's healthy.

And two of those losses were due to Zach Edey's 'gift' (I mean) flagrant conduct on Kofi! Yep, I said it for Brad Underwood since he can't say it publicly and get a fine. The jumbotron didn't lie, brother.

This is a big, big game. The schedule gets really difficult, really quickly. Have to win the home games and get what you can on the road. I think that 15-5 COULD win the conference (probably a share), but that means 7-3 in the last 10. With how we're currently playing (struggles offensively), I'm not sure how realistic that is. Really, really hoping that we get Curbelo and he can create some better continuity and some easy baskets. This team doesn't get a lot of layups in either transition or through the offense. It's live by the three and die by the three. It's great when shots fall, but when they don't....it's hard to watch.

I agree that our win at Iowa is probably our best. Michigan State was ice cold from distance when we beat them and we only scored 56.
