Do not look forward to Pikiell's constant whining to the ref's or crybaby Mulcahy's antics
We absolutely owned Mulcahy last time. He's playing better obviously, but whoever had the D assignment on him last time will likely get it again. He plays the pick and role well with Omoruyi, who is much improved as well.

We play Wednesday like the 2nd half today we’ll lose by 20

No game is guaranteed when you're playing on the roan in the Big Ten.

Illinois will finish this last stretch 6-0 and win the B1G outright. Rutgers will get beat down again by 25. The only concerning game is against scUM, since Dickinson has been hot from 3 recently and will give Kofi some problems.

Honest question I've had forever: Kofi has to deal with two or three people hanging on him every time on offense. Touch fouls get called on guards. Is there something in the basketball rule book saying fouls in those two situations should be called differently?

Rutgers is sold out. The only tickets you might get now are resellers. Rutgers is also calling for a "black out" game. They're on. That will make all the Orange that shows up stand out all the better.

We will be there in person. It's my birthday, and it's my wife's birthday. We need birthday presents.

Torvik has us favored by 5.5, with over 70% chance of winning. We shall see.
But what does he say if we play like we did in the second half vs NW?

In all seriousness, I’m really looking forward to this one. Winning in a hostile road environment is such a thrill. Doesn’t get much tougher than the RAC.

I’m happy RJ has progressed. He’s getting his increased minutes just in time to throw him to the fire against Ron Harper Jr. If he responds, we might have ourselves a stew goin.

My conspiracy theory is that BU saw Ivey go off against us in Mackey, decided that RJ is our best chance to guard him, and said F it, time to get him ready. Probably 0% true and unrealistic/unreasonable to ask of a freshman, but that’s my story and I’m sticking to it.

Mike Tyson quote. " Everybody has a plan till they get punched in the mouth." We need to get back to punching teams in the mouth. We are playing a little soft, lately

Welcome to the party RJ!

Love this quote from RJ yesterday. Apart from their in-game contributions, so glad Trent and Damonte came back this year to help facilitate the knowledge/culture transfer to the younger players. Invaluable contribution that hopefully will pay dividends for years to come.

“Just being with the vets every time in practice, just going at it with them, guarding them. I know it’s going to make me better. Getting all the knowledge I can, getting the little stuff that they have learned for the past five years, four years, like Trent, has been amazing. I’ve grown a lot as a player mentally and physically with Fletch [Adam Fletcher] in the weight room.”

What Pickiell has done at Rutgers is really impressive. That was a dumpster fire of a program that he took over. Hadn’t had a winning season in a decade, had a Beckman-esque player abuse scandal. Was coming off a 7-25 season when he took over.

Now he’s got a third straight Tourney-worthy team and are one of the least comfortable teams to play in the league.

I’m hoping the analogy to our football program works out. If Rice was their Beckman and Fisher was their Smith, I’m hoping Bielema can be our Pickiell.

This is NOT the same team the Illini mopped up earlier in the season. Out of all the remaining games I fear this one the most. Rutgers PLAYS HARD FOR 40 MINUTES. I hope the Illini take the hint! Need Trent, Plummer and Grandison to step up, help from Melendez, Belo and Goode off bench. Kofi must have big game. Make your free throws

It’s even more impressive this season, as he had 2 major contributors transfer out in Myles Johnson (UCLA) and Jacob Young (Oregon).

Both guys likely wished they had stayed since their production has dipped this year.

Yeah, the game is at the Rac.
Yeah, they have Geo B back.
Yeah they are on a roll, beating some good teams.

Isn't gonna matter..... Rutgers matches up terrible with us. We smoked them by 35 and it wasn't that close. Get up ten points on them and they'll cry "uncle".

yep...we ripped their heart out earlier and I saw a lot of passive faces from the RU players then ........But , every game is a new day so let's just go on a 3 point bombadier flight over the Jersey Mikes arena and then drop it down low to kofi for the finishing touches .....

What's the o/u on Punky macbrewster crying as he flops his whiny butt down trying to draw some fouls ........I put it at 8.......

I'm a firm believer that every fan at a game can help. Go Illini !!!

We start one guy over 6'5", why should we win rebound totals?
Not to be picky, but Grandy is 6'6". RU is built fairly similar. And as we all know, rebounding is not just about height.

roan vs road. Most mistypes are off by one key, but this one was crazy off. Not giving you crap ... I just want to know what you were drinking ... because I want to try some of that.

I'd like to experiment (for at least one game) with the Bruce Weber offensive scheme from 2005 (with Augie/Kofi getting a minimum of 12 shots/game). We have
comparable outside shooting to that team.

Give me some constant player movement, screens, back doors and lots of excellent passing..........let's try a true offensive set.

When we run the weave, we typically waste 15-18 seconds off the clock and we end up having Trent with the ball up top, with just 12 seconds left on the shot clock.
And the teams are all overplaying the weave. I really think it's just an exercise to keep us moving and not get stagnant, and to make the defense move. Not many quality shots from our weave ... if someone were to run the analytics.
