Definitely fixable issues but been trending downward as of last few games. Maybe not the whole 40 minutes in each game but concerning during portions of games nonetheless. Weve not put together two horrible halves like that in a while. Trust Underwood and staff will do their best to right the ship

Time for staff and players to decide what they want this year. Are they done, or do they really "think they can win it all?" Tired of hearing how well we are practicing and bringing it every day when it's not being brought to the games with the exception of the Arizona and first Purdue game really. The warning signs have been there - especially recently in the 2nd half of Purdue and NW.

RJ Melendez has to play 25-30 minutes a game from this point forward. Grandy, DMW, or Plummer can come off the bench; they seem to need some motivation at this point in the season. We really need Curbelo to get right and be able to take some of the load off Trent, who has played a ton of minutes and needs some help.

So, my humble opinion is the season rests on BU ditching his reluctance to put RJ on the floor and AC getting back to at least 75%, because he has been a shadow of himself since coming back - which is understandable. But it would be nice to see some progress of cutting silly turnovers and playing within himself. The shooters have to get their legs back apparently. Maybe dial down the intensity of the practices or something? Keep hearing how intense they are, and maybe this time of year is not the best time for that. Yea, I know, I'm not the coach. But I'm also not making $4Mil a year to make this work.

Tough road game no matter how you shoot it but we didn’t do ourselves any favors. The most concerning part was the rebounding effort and the play of our seniors!? No excuse for that!

The U of I Department of Psychology could save a lot of money by cancelling their text book orders and using the Loyalty game threads instead. Everything they need is there!

We are in good shape. The B1G is a gauntlet, not just for us, but for everyone. BU will make the adjustments, and the boys will come out fighting on Saturday.
Yea, Saturday is big. He either lost them after this game or fired it up

Houston, we have a problem…
Let's just take the Orange colored glasses off for a minute and dissect this periodRutgers played like the team that was contending for a big 10 championship not us.

Our flaws are being exposed and unless we do and unless we do something about that we are very much trending in the wrong direction

I love this team, I love the coaches, I love our players.
However, Some of our guys are worn down and worn out.

I am actually driving from the burbs of Chicago to go see the Illini play versus Michigan state on Saturday and after what I saw today I am dreading what might happen on Saturday.

But, I will keep the faith and hope we fix our flaws
Rutgers is definitely on fire....didn't realize our rebounding woes recently until announcers pointed that out. Need to clean that up fast!

We were ice cold from 3p and FTs early....that is not the norm.

Stay the course and stay positive....we are still a very good team and can be great...not too late!

This may be perceived as an extreme or overly dramatic take. But, it feels like our engine is now beginning to make some funny noises after having ignored the check engine light for a little too long.

Shooting poorly is one thing. Being doubled up on the glass by a team we waxed by 35 earlier in the season is another.

Yea, if they could have heard me biting their heads off on some of those plays they wouldn't still be doing it in the last five minutes

Some positives:
-Melendez
-Cohawk getting some good minutes in and some confidence back

Negatives:
-Still have trouble figuring out how to shake off a cold stretch which we are having too often
-Decision making on offense. How many misses were off indecisive plays where they were attacking and settled for bunnies and bad shots? At least 3-4 buckets worth.
-Kofi not making a quick enough move when he gets fed single guarded. Stop waiting to feel out the situation and just go. Especially when they were blowing the whistle.
-DMW effort lackluster again. A few boards he normally gets he just didn’t go after. What’s up?

We are not trending in the right direction right now and are getting outplayed when we don’t have a matchup advantage. Work to do..

Apparently, as seen in recent games, there is a distinct disconnect between "practice" and "games"

Coach on radio says the D was pathetic, no focus and we got pounded tonight

Games like this are a hard sell to young players especially when you are starting 4 seniors and they combine to give you 20 pts 9 rebs and 8 assists and go for 4-17 for three and 8 of 23 overall

Its always great to run it back but you also have to figure out a way to add wrinkles and improve upon the previous season and it just looks as though weve squeezed about all we are gonna get from the seniors . I mean how do you explain to a freshmen that someone could be ahead of you and grab 3 rebs and 1 assists and have 1 to in 30 minutes but there are no minutes for you because you lack experience ?
