No love for DMW
I can only speak for myself but I think Damonte has a nice smooth 3 point shot and I was happy to see him excel tonight (on both ends of the floor) . It would be awesome if he continued to heat up and play high caliber bball moving forward to finish his career here at Illinois (major dittos on Trent Frazier as well) Damn I'm going to miss them!

Like I stated on here awhile back, Damonte is a gamer, has unfinished business and wants ALL the smoke from those inbred Idiots Outside Walking Around

Be angry from the bell to the end. Maybe play against his friendly demeanor.

Coach would tell you he prefers a pissed Kofi.
You're right, but after....80...90 college games, is his demeanor magically going to change? Kofi is a good kid. He's a gentle giant, per se. He may not have that mean streak in him. That's a trait that's awfully hard to manufacture. I agree with you....he plays exponentially better when he a fire is lit

Positives:
1.) Trent’s effort on D
2.) Coleman’s continued spark
3.) Freethrow shooting (huh?)
4.) Ugly wins are still wins

Negatives:
1.) Kofi looks tired
2.) Rebounding used to be a BIG part of our identity…now it’s well…not
3.) Defense was not up to snuff
4.) It’s March…if it’s a loose ball…get on the damn floor!
Agree on Kofi. He’s looked tired the last several games.

Not sure, maybe the message needs to come from teammates?

They didn't. They said they couldn't be sure it didn't also touch him. It was the call I thought they would make, and is probably the call I would have made if I was a more objective observer.
If they weren't sure, either they somehow didn't have the same angles we did or the monitor we provide them has no more than 6 pixels, in which case shame on us.

Interesting take. FS1 showed that replay from two angles multiple times. The ball seemed to me never to alter it's trajectory after the PSU player defected it. A reasonable observer would infer, accordingly, that it did not touch Kofi. My viewing companion concluded same.

We couldn't find anyone that could make a shot. We had fumblefingers at the worst possible times. PSU did a great job of posting up their bigger guards to keep Plummer and Curbelo on the bench. We get a 6 pt lead then give PSU a wide open 3 with some confusion on D. IOW we repeatedly found ways to keep PSU in the game. Still, we found a way to gut out a win, so all's well that ends well. And as soon as the refs went to the monitor I knew they would find a way to give PSU the ball. They said they couldn't be sure if Kofi touched the ball or not so they gave it to PSU even though they could plainly see PSU touched the ball. Try and follow that logic if you can.

Man, I'll take the win but I really don't know what to expect with this team. Unlike BU's teams the last couple years this one just hasn't been able to hit its stride for an extended run of 4 or 5 games at any point in the season. I was hoping that the end of the OSU game may have sparked that, and certainly we saw it continue against Michigan, but tonight I don't think represents where any of us thought this team would be at this point in the season. We have the talent for a Final Four run, but I'm also worried about whether we can string together 2 competent performances at this point.

Did you not watch the Ohio State game
I'm having a hard time enjoying watching most of our games this year. The majority of our wins turn out to be nail biters and most of those we should have won handily. We rarely blow anyone out. Hard to figure we almost seem better on the road than at home. We could easily get bounced out in the first round of the NCAA if we play at this level. At least we hit our FT's and played better D than of late.

I’ll take the win. Our guards need to drive more. Kofi needed the ball more, though his hands were suspect tonight. What was the deal with Illinois having 4-5 rebounds go off our hands at the end of the game? It seems like we have a lot of balls tipped away. Need to grab the ball with two hands like Deon said on the radio broadcast. Be Stong!!! You guys are missing out if you don’t get tune in radio app and listen to Barnhart and whoever broadcast our games While it’s on tv.
