If there was ever a time to make an impact on the ILLINI. I believe this year, would be perfect for ( Doug Kramer ad Khalen Tholson), Kramer has stayed the course and physically (added 20+ pounds of strength/speed/muscle) from recovering from a few injuries; which plagued his consistency and success with the offensive line. Now, with him being the elder statesman and 3 other HIGHER rated players among the Line, they may have one of the best in the BIG TEN. Khalen Tholson, if he played most of his career at Middle Line backer; he also may have stringed together 3 Years of dominance- at the MLB position. Both have made some strides but, with coach Bielema and this team. I believe they both could play well and get in the 1st or 2nd round of the NFL draft.

I apologize if I'm stupid on this, but are these stats scouts care about with a QB. Speed I get, but does someone really care if Brandon Peters has a 36" vertical? If so, please explain why.

Secondary question, is there really any chance Peters get drafted? I mean, obviously not to start, but even as a backup? I would imagine he'll find some job maybe on a practice squad, but as an undrafted free-agent, right?

Vertical is all explosion and most of throwing unless you're a Mahomes or Rodgers elite QB is leg drive explosion. A 36" isn't amazing but shows that if he can generate the torque with is upper body he would have less trouble throwing deep routes.

BP is definitely not getting drafted. He may get invited to some camps to throw so WRs can get some work and other QBs don't burn out their arms early.

Illini picked in this mock draft..............................

Kerby Joseph to Bears in 5th round @ pick # 150
Doug Kramer to Jaguars in 7th round @ pick # 222
Jake Hanson to Packers in 7th round @ pick # 258 (compensatory pick )

I don't how this mock draft compares to other but it was fun to read......

I thought Joseph would be projected a bit higher. If he does go in the 5th maybe he can be this year's Nate Hobbs (minus the vehicular foolishness).
