Not trying to steep on a pile of negativity but… seeing how we played tonight and how they played tonight, there are going to need to be massive turnarounds both ways for us to make this competitive. We can point to their lack of Q1 wins but the metrics are the metrics for a reason. These guys really are top 5. This game will be hard, and a hard earned place to the Sweet 16 to whoever wins it.

That being said, this is still March. And it’s madness. And our defense is purring like a jaguar. And if we can get our offense to meow louder than a strangled cat, we will be in business.

We luckily survived but now we're playing with house money and I bet we'll be a lot looser against Houston.
We aren't playing with house money until we face AZ in the sweetness. Another second round loss is not what Coach Underwood has in mind; he'd be greatly disappointed. If we lose to AZ I can sleep at night. I think they're a better team. I look forward to Illinois making me eat those words.

Agreed, in fact I can't remember the last early morning game we did look good in. Seriously we couldn't get slotted in a prime afternoon matchup?

Based on KenPom alone, Chattanooga would’ve finished the Big Ten in 9th place, ahead of 6 teams (Nebraska, Minnesota, Maryland, Northwestern, Penn St, and Rutgers).

So that was like facing a middle of the pack B1G team. Not as bad as some might have thought coming into the game.

That being said, Houston, based on KenPom alone, would’ve won the B1G. Same with Arizona.

Even TCU, if we happen to knock off Houston and TCU knocks of Arizona, is ranked 26th.

That’s good for 4th in the B1G (ahead of teams like Ohio St (31), Michigan (32), Wisconsin (34), and Michigan St (38).

So it doesn’t get any easier from here.

Game on.

In fairness, according to KenPom, Purdue won the B1G. And yet...

This^^^

If we can put a complete game together offensively. Houston will be the ones with a problem.... Defensively we are getting it done.

Hope Grandi, Trent , and others can heal up quick... ILL!!

Trent has to get it back on the rails on Sunday. Hopefully Kofi won’t miss layups and coach will bring in Goode or Melendez to shake things up offensively. And yes let’s hope for a Dominant Erupt performance!!
