Weird that he left Izzo after all these years to work with Woodson. Guessing the allure of coaching at his alma mater was too much to pass up (and probably got along with Woodson just fine early on).

Not exciting to me. Could be very good hire but not sexy. Like OK football hiring Max Venable Clemson DC vs USC hiring Lincoln Riley. Yes Kirby Smart at GA was home run. but lots of other assistant coaches can't make the leap. JMO I prefer at least 4 years successful running an entire program.
Tommy Loyd is en fuego. But in general 20 year assistant is hardly the fast track. Lets see how good AZ is over next 5 years.

I wouldn't be worried about Beard failing if I were Snacks. I'd be worried about getting tossed for a different assistant.
