As someone who went to CHS way before you guys, we hardly ever worried about Edwardsville because rarely beat us
Back in the day, no one beat Collinsville very often, as i recall

I remember when I was in high school (down in Collinsville), we always hated playing Edwardsville because they intentionally just passed the ball around ad nauseum until eventually something opened up. It was an extremely boring thing to watch because there was no incentive for them to actually attack the basket in any way.
God I hated Waldo ball. I went to O'Fallon and when we joined the Southwest Conference I was like "are they really going 4 corners at the start of the game?" .. That was their tactic. If a team was better than them 4 corners right away if a team they were leading came back in range they would go into 4 corners regardless of how much time was left in the game.

Speaking of Collinsville something that was funny is Coach Pace was the JV coach and assistant to Bone the varsity coach at Cville but he was a PE teacher and football coach at O'Fallon. I remember talking to him and he was not a fan of Bone's at all. LOL

The few times I watched him Smith was the primary ballhandler for much of the game, so I wouldn't write him off as a point guard too quickly. I also wouldn't read too much into the assist rate as Paris' teams collectively did not rely on assists to score during his tenure in Chattanooga. I'd personally take him and would expect him to play a lot of minutes.

Anyway, here's a picture of Illini legend Dick Butkus with Rob Reiner, both sporting tremendous disco shirts on an episode of The Rockford Files:

Malachi is a true #2, not a PG. He scores inside and outside, ball handles, assists, rebounds. One year of eligibility left. What's not to like? Maybe the fit is something BU does not like, but the stats are there.

I grew up playing against McLeansboro and they played the same way. Voodoo ball. Would just pass it around all quarter if they could. Most games the final scores were in the 20s. It was brutal
