Also triggering because Jon’s preseason list has Diabete and Houston on Michigan’s starting lineup. Both are going Pro and Michigan also has to replace 4 starters, just a dumb take from a guy that’s the college basketball equivalent to Rovell

Yep, that's the epitome of a very dumb and very lazy prognostication. Rothstein should be embarrassed.

How is O$U up there losing their 2 starters and they also lose Young who was starter/6thman

I like to go crazy (with lineups). So here is my go crazy lineup. I wonder if there is enough handling and shooting in a lineup of…

TSJ
RJ
MM
Hawk
Dain

If it works offensively, I’d love to see it here and there. Could you imagine a team trying to score on a switchable lineup of all 6’7+?
See 1988-89 Flying Illini. This team closest in size and athletic ability. However they have a lot to prove they are even close to the same class as that team.

One of Skyy or Epps will be on the floor at all times. The idea is to win games not have the biggest lineup, as much as some may fantasize about that.

The sad thing is, the entire media is like this. They are all lazy lemmings. Unfortunately, it will result in us being out of the top 25 to start the season and if we drop a couple as the team gels with a lot of new players will make breaking into the rankings more difficult. But, I've been told we will jump up the rankings as we win games, so we shall see.

I may get scorched for this, even though I absolutely love RJs potential, but I guess I don’t see why people think he’s guaranteed a starter spot. I’ve no inside info, I just didn’t see enough out of him last year to say he’s our best returning player. Honestly, what am I missing? And please feel free to prove me wrong.
To me RJ's high basketball IQ really stands out and makes him a starter. Other than hanging on the rim too long ;), the kid has a knack for making plays and not forcing the issue.

Ugh, don't remind me of that. Such a trash call.

Yeah I'm pretty confident we are better than the 35th team in the country.
Regardless of how much orange kool-aid we consume...one must take note that trying to replace the entire starting lineup with 3 transfers, 3 ascending sophs, and 3 freshmen is a daunting task that is unpredictable. Yes, there is talent...but how that talent blends and combines on the floor is unknown....just ask Calipari.

That said, I like what BU and staff have done in assembling quality players...anyone has to respect that. But it will take a bit of luck also to put a team on the floor that puts doing whatever it takes to win at the expense of individual interests. That gets tougher every year in today's world as we see not only college basketball, but our country and the world spin towards an existence that anyone of common sense knows is not in the best interests of anyone.

If Rothstein has Illinois 35 with Mayer, were they outside the top 50 before him? 35 seems like it'd be more appropriate for Illinois's pre-Mayer ranking. Replacing a lot of players of course but Mayer and TSJ are starters at high-end Big XII programs.
