Its becoming very clear that an Illini basketball scholarship is a valuable commodity.

If you don't jump at it when offered the staff is looking at many other quality players so you may not get a second chance.

We beat out blue bloods UNC, Kansas etc for Sky, Matt and TSJ. Duke is taking our transfer portal guys (Jake)

Times are a changing. We are a big time player.

I don’t know how much buzz there has been around his recruitment lately since he’s taking his time with his decision, but I remember Illinois being considered an early favorite along with Kentucky. Guard/wing isn’t our biggest need in the future so O can see him not being as high on the priority list.
PG could be a thing if Skyy goes pro. Would leave only Jaden.

Compared to end of season with Andre leaving and Kofi going pro I feel much better about our roster

Off season
-- Added CG Sky
-- Added SF TSJ,
-- Added SF Matt M
-- Added C Zacharie

Already had good incoming class
-- CG Jayden
-- 2G Sencire
-- PF Ty Rogers
-- C - Dain

Brad has shown he can deal with new NIL / transfer portal world! I hope Bret B and Shauna G are equally successful

It’s pretty clear that we are gonna have some losses each year, everyone does now with the portal. But, we are in good hands.

Hawkins v2.0. Better athlete, better physique (absolutely no disrepect to Hawk). Now, whether Perrin puts it together remains to be seen. But I love that he has a year to get the training wheels off. Perfect timing.

What a job by our staff, eh? What a staff! Elite.

Was going to say something similar. See a lot of CoHawk in his game. Either a lot of those people were tall or he plays smaller than 6'10". Very good and active hands. Good footwork. Needs to go to work with Fletch and GA for bulking up somewhat and developing a true post game. I don't think he is a guy you can dump it in to and let him work. We have been a bit spoiled by that with Kofi. Never really watched Coleman's HS tape but I can't imagine it is better than Perrin's. We will see where the development takes him

ohh, I likey. Could use a bit more quickness/athleticism, some hustle (seemed to ball watch vs. go to the basket for a rebound) and as any 17 yr old can do, fill out his body a bit more...but great instincts, has some handles, but I saw a play where he slipped to the basket and rather than put a layup to avoid contact, he dunked it home. I love that...saw our guys try to layup the ball too many times these past couple of years vs. just dunk the damn ball!
