Morez looks more like top 30. Great skill set. JB has lots of potential. Want both.

Yet the latest Rivals class 2024 update has him dropping 23 spots. SMH ,REALLY!!! when it is all said and done we will see what his final ranking will be. I know it is early still, however I guess the Illinois commit rankings drop is alive and well

They snuck ZZ in at 124 doubt that happens without being committed to Illinois.

Yeah I noticed that, they (*Rivals) were hoping that be an would be an appeasement for Johnson'rs drop. However we as Illini fans are not having any part of it, ZZ is and shpuld be hoigher on the list on his own potential and merit

Sorry I should have been more clear. I meant to say I only think he got added into the rankings due to being committed to Illinois as a counter point to Morez's drop. Depending who you talk to ZZ isn't at that level yet.

Well, hate to quibble, but I'm not sure this rebound is going to be available much in the B1G. I still like him, but this particular clip didn't wow me.

The rules have not changed. There is no age requirement, but you do need a high school diploma. If you graduate early, you've received the high school diploma and are qualified to start your undergrad studies.
That's puzzling, my friend never got a high school diploma but still got admitted early to UIUC
Also a kid from my home town actually skipped 3 years of HS to go early and went on
to get a PhD in chemistry. He's now a prof at UC Berkeley

Musselman is killing it at Arkansas and before that at Nevada. I can't believe nobody tried to pull him out of Arkansas

Yeah he’s been really good. He’s trying to make it a basketball school again. I could see him leaving for a blue blood and a big bag of cash, but then again… who knows?

yea, well, way back in the day you could go to law school without a college degree

and pretty sure some states still let you take the bar exam without a law degree.

some things change a little, some change a lot , and some never change. go figure

Don't get hung up on the actual diploma. Your friend may not have attended graduation or gotten the high school diploma, but he had to have a high school transcript that said he was prepared and qualified. If he says he didn't, press x.

The kid that skipped three years conceivably could have taken the GED to show he was prepared. There's no age limit on that, either. Before admissions standards became so clearly defined, you could get into most 4-year schools with that; now, not so much.

Bottom line is, since the early 1900s, universities have required some kind of proof that students were ready to study at the collegiate level. You don't need to take a traditional route to get there, but universities don't risk their reputation on students who can't show they're ready.

I would imagine that international players who have played semi-pro (or is it full pro?) like Perrin need to show a equivalency as well. UIUC gets enough international students that admissions is well versed in those tests and how they compare to our GED, SAT, etc.

Amani is Brads #1 in 2023? I’d be curious if that’s truly because he’s his favorite player or if he’s a solid gettable guy who he’s just high on.

This is setting up for an extremely quiet 2023 recruiting period, which considering our roster construction makes sense. Should only benefit much more important classes in the future.
