I wanted to say I'm disappointed with the Big10 network and Big10 Today show, today! Our Illini play Saturday and at the end of the 60 minute broadcast today, Illinois 2 minutes at end of show. That's shameful the coverage. We're playing in a few days!
Not sure what this Big 10 network is! There is an Ohio State network that covers some of the other Big Ten schools occasionally.

I apologize that this has probably been hashed to death over the off-season. But I gotta put my prediction in for the season.

6-6. What do y’all think?

Start off with a strong win against Wyoming 28-17

Yeah I suppose, but it feels like a season ago Bielema got more out of Lovie's guys than Lovie would have. This team has the talent to compete. If our QB play is even a smidgen more effective than a year ago it should be good for an extra win.

Defense won’t be as good as it was last year. Lost a lot. Walters is legit but just hard to overcome some of the losses.

Sounds like he knows a little about football. I kinda like the guy.
Tough game for me personally. Lifetime Illini fan, having grown up in Urbana. But I lived in Wyoming for a few years and my sister, brother-in- law and a niece and nephew currently live in Laramie. My sister worked for the University of Wyoming and my brother in law still works there. Illinois is the only team I would pull for against the Cowboys. Wish I could be at the game. Go Illini!

CHAMPAIGN, Ill. — Illinois coach Bret Bielema knows who the team’s starting quarterback will be. The players do, too.
But the secret of who won the starting job between Syracuse transfer Tommy DeVito and Art Sitkowski won’t be revealed until game day, along with the results of other position battles that were decided in fall camp.
“I don’t see the advantage of letting that be known before Saturday,” Bielema said on not naming starters at quarterback or for other position battles.

DeVito came to Illinois as a transfer for an opportunity at playing time in his final season, while Sitkowski had moments as a backup option where he helped Illinois off the bench before his season ended early due to injury. That prompted Bielema to go to the transfer portal for another quarterback option.
“I told him specifically about Tommy, and Art’s reaction then is the same that it is right now today,” Bielema said. “I think he wants Illinois to be successful. He obviously has individual dreams or goals, but those two have built relationships that, I’ve seen a lot of good quarterback relationships, those two are unique and different people ... but they get along extremely well.”

Which is the bigger difference in your opinion: The upgrade on offense this year or the downgrade on defense? I think our improvement on offense will greatly help our defense and we wont need a perfect game from our defense as often....

Okay, Inside Agent BRucks™ has told us we are at approximately 35,000 tickets sold. I know some students already have tickets, but hopefully we can add a few more this week, no?? Reminder, here are our last several home opener attendances vs. non-Big Ten opponents:

2019: 30,654 vs. Akron (Saturday at 11:00 am)
2018: 31,898 vs. Kent State (Saturday at 11:00 am)
2017: 42,505 vs. Ball State (Saturday at 11:00 am)
2016: 48,644 vs. Murray State (Saturday at 2:30 pm)
2015: 36,693 vs. Kent State (Saturday at 2:00 pm)

So, while we are not back to early Lovie numbers, but we are already well ahead of 2018 and 2019. Nebraska last year was over 41k, but you have to figure UNL brought at least 5k fans, right?? Possibly more? (I was not there.) So, let's say there were about 35k Illini fans to watch Nebraska last year ... if that's true, 35k for Wyoming is an improvement!! Again, I tend to look on the bright side. :ROFLMAO:

U of I's Fall 2021 undergraduate enrollment was 34.5k ... I know some of those kids have tickets already, but damn, how do you not do everything possible to get another 3-4k in the stands this week? As someone who almost always has to watch on TV, 45k makes the stadium look completely full because they never show the upper decks. 35k looks bad no matter what.
