This team earned their win...and learned that big wins are never easy. They deserved it. As Bilas pointed out there were no turnovers in their last 15 min. of play....who saw that coming?

Never count this team out. The guys on the bench see every blunder and get so pissed off they are ready to fight a bear when Brad calls their number!!

I am certain he feels the same, but I can't wait for Goode to join the party!! Never seen an Illini team where 10 guys play and I feel confident in all. Maybe 3 some FT work is needed, but Harris and Dainja get some credit tonight for getting the ball in the net at a critical moment or two.

Jayden Epps had a huge game.

Hope Skyy keeps his chin up, tough night but good one from which to learn.

And cudos to TS Jr. for turning his night around and lifting the team to victory when he was needed the most.

Absolutely loved DD's hard work and quick feet on defense.

And CoHawk....another solid game...young man knows how to play the game 94 ft. What a future he has...as well as a lovely sister!

Also, MM, welcome to the Fighting Illini. Keep making string music big guy.

And finally, Sencire is likely every bit as good as Trent on defense right now. He may become the poster child for "Fighting Illini" but certainly the leading Battle Award nominee.

Bottom line this was a much needed and well deserved win. Texas deserves their ranking but depth got them in the end. They are athletic and skilled....and so are our Illini!!!!
His sister is cute.

Glad we didn’t play Duke. Would have to listen to Dookie V.
I listened long enough for them to say nice things about him (I'm happy he's doing well), and as soon as he started talking about Dook...MUTE.

Iowa and Duke to music is much preferred to all of his Dookie nonsense

Hey bro........I posted last week that Jayden Epps is gonna be an Illini great ..........I have watched how he goes about his business on the court and he is ALL business.................

great poker face on the court and so mature for a true freshman................

I noticed before the Illini run to get the game into overtime that when Epps came and took over for Skyy that the team settled down and ran their offense a whole lot better , protecting the ball and playing with a concentrated purpose to win this game........I thought if we can only get this game into OT that our true TEAM play would take over .........

Conditioning again played a big part in this win.............With the depth we have and when Luke gets back I believe we can beat anyone in the country.........

Just replay the game and you will see MM carried us in the first half ..........................

Second half was a conundrum with ut going on a 16-2 run and then.........................RJ came alive and Epps with a big 3 and clutch FT's andthe defense stepped up with a total of 12 or 13 blocks..........

TSJ came alive in the OT and we won.........

Any player on any given night can lead us to victory...........

I love that we won and Epps revealed his clutch Ayo-esque genes but man, Coleman should not be closing our games. He's anti-clutch.

I summarized the UCLA, VA, MD, and TX games for my wife. I explained that there is a lot of BB to be played, and there are a lot of good teams we don't know yet. But this team is clearly a top 10-12 team in the country. Anything can happen. It is going to be fun and memorable. I will not miss a game.

I hate to say this but we didn't win just because we just kept fighting. We won because when we took Clark out in the second half, our offense ran better and the defense tightened up considerably. As a result, I predicted Clark would not come back in during overtime and he didn't. I'm surprised Jay didn't catch that. Posters did notice the effort of Harris and Epps and they deserve lots of credit. This will be a good opportunity to teach Clark some lessons. Ignore the one great game that he had recently. He'll sit to start the next game.

I don't want to be accused of being someone who complains about the officiating every time we lose. That being said, we won and the refs really sucked. That was not a neutral court. Makes the win even sweeter.
They were an absolute abysmal trainwreck tonight. Just inconsistent in what they were calling and then just making blatantly terrible calls with the game up for grabs. That said, I will give them credit for one thing. Those final 5minutes of OT, they just let the kids play and called a fair and consistent game. Almost like they decided, you know what, Texas, we gave you every opportunity to win this game in regulation and you didn't take it, you have to win it on your own now.

See some complaining about Hawkins and he didn't have the greatest shooting night but still had 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 assists, 3 blocks, and only one turnover. Led the team in rebounds, assists, and blocks

The 3 point foul was bad but the timeout on the made 3 was kind of unlucky because it looked like Mayer might be about to turn the ball over and he came out and assisted the Epps 3 the next play so no harm.

Epps does not carry himself like an 18 year old. He may become my favorite Illini after Frazier.

I am VERY glad Mr. Underwood (the guy who knows his players best and makes the decisions) thinks the opposite. The exact opposite. Polar opposite. Night/day opposite.

With his skillset, talent, heart, and BB IQ, I’ll gladly ride the CoHawk train all the way!

Illinois is not even in this game without Coleman. I knew someone would bad mouth him. He played 42 out of the 45 minutes at full speed. He missed to free throws and you say he should be removed at crunch time. Get serious.
