It's amazing how quickly Nate Oats has risen in the coaching world. I guess when you're a superstar coach, it doesn't take that long. I certainly didn't see this coming from his two NCAA Tourney 2nd-round runs with Buffalo.
If Illinois, why not Texas?
Didn't you mean When KY opens? What if Kentucky opens?
I thought Illinois was Underwood's dream job.
At the least, Underwood ain't getting any raise out of the flirting. If the insiderare coming out discussing this so brazenly, I think it says something about this being more that mere speculation. Whitman must be pissed....

From an AD perspective, that’s the benefit of an average season. At the least, Underwood ain't getting any raise out of the flirting.
If you were watching the Xavier game over the weekend … You might’ve seen a familiar face …

I really can’t believe I’m actually reading some of the things I’m reading. If the insider/s are coming out discussing this so brazenly, I think it says something about this being more than mere what if speculation. Whitman must be pissed...
I feel like IF Kentucky and Kansas opened up, Oats would be high on both lists. This is mostly irrelevant to all things Illinois, but any thoughts as to which would be viewed by the coaching community as a better job? I'm just curious since those fanbases like to think of themselves as the best in the nation.
So does this go along with the supposed rumor that Brad isn't happy with the athletic department in some way?Oh, Whitman is aware … Brad and his agent go poking around at jobs every year … Last year it was K State (which Whitman understood) and then we gave Brad the bag and now he wants to go flirt with Texas ? In Whitman’s head - he’s given Brad everything he could want … If he’s not happy still then so be it, thanks for everything and good luck wherever you go …
I really can’t believe I’m actually reading some of the things I’m reading.
IF both UK and KU open up, Oats probably takes Kansas if the money is astronomical. And Kentucky goes after Musselman. JMHO.I feel like IF Kentucky and Kansas opened up, Oats would be high on both lists. Miller is pretty clearly the better coach, plus he's 5 years younger.Miller is a better coach … He also is a better recruiter …
I think Miller would keep 1 of TA or Chester … Geoff would not be retained … Cohen would come with him …
I guess I missed that video. You can imagine the things we’ve been hearing … It has absolutely been nuts since a few hours after the loss …
The video of Brad shaking up with the Texas staff really got things going …
Mark Few ??If Kansas opens … They want 1 guy and 1 guy only …
They’ll pay anything to get him …
It sure sounds like it's 50/50 whether he stays or not--regardless if he gets the Texas gig. Crazy times!I wouldn’t say he’s thrilled … And it’s not just the athletic department … Boosters … and other factors I won’t get into on here until the dust settles on this whole thing … If Brad does wind up staying … I’d like to keep some things private …
Apparently Brad wants the job so bad he's going to take it even if UT doesn't offer it.Wait so the consensus is that Texas doesn't want Brad but he's still leaving? My brain's in a blender rn
