I bet 10, 11 and 12 wouldn't agree at all with your assessment, especially 11. He surely wouldn't have transferred here if he thought that was at all true.
I think that’s the whole point of practices and games though. Work hard, prove you deserve more minutes and the team as a whole gets better and better.

Harmon isn't coming here for spot minutes. He likely won't start, but he'll be in the regular rotation. Hansberry also plays more than spot minutes unless he's a shocking disappointment.
Seems like a lot of folks getting 15-25 minutes depending on matchup and who’s on.

1. TSJ - Definitely
2. Hawkins - Definitely
3. Boom PG - Definitely, as many as he can handle
4. Dainja - As many as he can handle (which realistically might be below 30)
5. Domask - Will play a ton
6. Rodgers - Will play a ton
7. Goode - Will play a ton
8. Boom Big - Will need to at least soak up the extra Dainja minutes, it will be a bigger role than a Payne/Lieb
9. Harris - Will play as much as the completeness and steadiness of his game allows, so maybe still not a huge amount
10. Hansberry - spot minutes
11. Harmon - spot minutes
12. DGL - spot minutes

Depth is good but I do feel like we're burying Hansberry more than I'd like to.
Isn’t Moretti still here?
If Hawk is back the need for #8 considerably lessens as I see Hawkins as backup to Dainja and Hansberry backup to Hawkins at the 4. Domask / Goode at the three, TSJ/Harmon at 2, and #3/Harris/DGL at PG. But then there could be a complete positionless mixture.

Is this board currently constrained by our boom structure, or specifically a lack of a boom hierarchy? Do we need a boom to signify all the booms have happened? A super boom of sorts? I can suggest a super boom contender.

This is an all time meme but it's just doesn't evict excitement!

I think you’re wildly underestimating Harmon… certainly has his issues, but IMO a big reason we targeted both him and Domask is because they shot very well on open/catch and shoot 3s. Put them in roles where they don’t need to carry a midmajor team and we should theoretically see efficiency bumps for both. Harmon’s out-of-control issues should hopefully be less of a problem for the same reason — he doesn’t have to lead the offense. He’s 6’4 and a great athlete who can get to the rim and shoot from 3… he’s gonna be a big part of the rotation.

Yeah, I feel like we as a team were at our best with Hawkins at the 5. I was really hoping he'd play more of it this upcoming year (if he's back)

Now is the time we talk about the great depth because it always goes away once the season starts.

Moretti is here but not expected to play unless he wows the staff (which is not likely)

Same — it’s much more of a modern basketball and also flying Illini vibe. But 0440 said he’s not gonna play much center, which makes me sad.
In addition to 0440 being a most impressive insider for us…you want him to be our 5 too? You saw what they did to Kofi in this league.
I say let him play spot minutes at the 3 at least. Does he even have eligibility? 😂

Agreed. People get way too wrapped up in the stats w/o considering the context of the stats. A catch and shoot 3 pointer is a lot different than a pull-up or step-back. When you have the ultimate green light and are your team's #1 option, you will take a lot of shots you wouldn't take on a more talented team.
Just because you took a bunch of shots in one context doesn't mean you would in another. When you are the main guy, you are going to be less efficient than you would be as a complimentary player. Expectations are different.
If we end up with the type of depth we anticipate, anyone who takes a bad shot is going to become a spectator.
