I am not shitting on him lol. But yeah we are annoyed. Rightfully so.
Rightfully?

The irony is that if we didn't have "insiders" telling us what they believed his plans were for the last month, we'd all just be waiting. You're annoyed not by what he's done, which from the outside all looks pretty reasonable, but by what you're hearing on this board (Twitter) as well.

I believe your words were “I honestly really hate how he has gone about his decision and it feels clear that he does not want Illinois.” And also: “So if we don't get him. Good riddance.”

So, the kid says nothing and takes his time making his decision and you have a problem with him taking his time. He’s not guaranteed to go to the NBA, and he could have a major injury shortly into whatever career he has. This kid is likely just trying to get the best offer he can and why the hell shouldn’t he? To meet your expectations that we’re set by “insiders” with supposedly real info? This all just fun and games for us, but not for him, so how about you temper your expectations a bit?

I have a lot more confidence in this staff than during the Cliff Alexander / Derek Rose / Eric Gordon / Demetrius Jackson / Jawun Evans times

Brad is so different that our past coaches who put too many eggs in one basket
- recruits nationally and internationally
- recruits transfer portal hard
- always has backup and secondary backup
- great at identifying talent

I've thought all along that Yuri Collins would fit THIS team better than RayJ. If not RayJ, and not Yuri, I hope there's a chance that we could bring in Boswell. Toward the end of last year, his game was much better than early.
Staff will figure it out.

Boswell didn’t enter the portal. He’s stuck at Arizona, happy or not.

So it has been shown that confidence is the most important trait a woman looks for in selecting a mate. Given the complete lack of confidence that this board has shown in the past week I have to wonder how any of you (Pruman excluded) ever get laid??

Oh wait.... I see now!!!

oh sir are you telling me you are not invested? we are all on here speculating about things that have not even happened yet. LMAO check yourself
Oh I'm invested alright for sure. But let's not pretend that the whole reason you're so worked up is because of this message board and not the actual decision of RayJ taking so long... If this board didn't exist, the large majority of us would be none the wiser.

I’m sorry, I would take Yuri because we need an experienced PG but to try to spin it as a better fit than RayJ is just crazy. It’s not really that close. I’d have Yuri as like the 3rd or 4th option of guys they could look at still.

However TSJ/Coleman/Yuri or TSJ/Yuri/Reeves could still make for a really nice team.

Personally, I thought any point guard isn't a good fit for this team, we are fluid and position-less.

To me this is exactly as a fan what I wanted to see from a RayJ standpoint. If he ends up at Baylor now, good for him, totally his right, his choice. Our roster will find a PG (even if it's not Collins, they will find one.)

If RayJ still chooses Illinois, it won't be because he had to settle. I want guys here who absolutely want to be here, above any other school (NBA withstanding.)

Ray J hasn't committed yet. Just a couple weeks ago he was headed to Utah. Ray J has to speak for himself, right?

You're rationalizing. Plus, we have no clue what THIS team will even be at this point. It's ok to be disappointed, if there's any reason to even be disappointed yet?

Yep, I want a pg that can be good at setting up others and can shoot well. I would love to know if the staff has any they are or may come available. Yuri is solid but shooting is suspect and one reason Ray J is preferred.

Maybe a little off topic… but why wouldn’t every kid (at least every kid who knows their coach wants them back) enter the portal every year? The guys who didn’t enter seemingly get screwed as the dominoes fall and they find out they dropped to third on the depth chart from March to June.

If he truly wanted to be here, he'd have committed three weeks ago. Whoever wants to put the ball in his hands the majority of the time, give him the green light to shoot and offers him the biggest bag is where he wants to be. The days of going to a school because "it just felt like home" are looooong gone.
