I just watched Valentine's highlights. Incredible acceleration, as it looks like he hits full speed in the first 2-3 steps. He has deceptively good speed. I.e. when he gets to full speed, he looks moderately fast, but nobody on the field can catch him. Valentine also seems to have good pad level awareness, as several times he lowered his shoulders and ran people over.

Man he's so effortlessly fast. I think it may be that he has really long legs for his size as that stride is enormous. He seems to have really solid hands as well which is a really big plus and he finds the hole and gets to the second level so quickly. Valentine would be a phenomenal get, and running behind a quality O-Line, while serving as a relief valve in screen situations, man he could be a special back for us. Here's hoping all the signs and projections are correct and he'll be wearing Illini orange and blue.

its been awhilke since we have had a real speedster at RB , who also had true football skills. We dont know yet if he is that guy, but he certainly has the speed part of the equation.

Would love to have a guy who can turn the corner and then out run everyone to the goal line for a change.

mendenhall could get around the corner. It was such a rarity for us to have someone like that.
