Now, Henry is of course a team guy who wants to win first and foremost.

But he's also very smart to realize that he will be the one to reap the benefit of Leonhard's presence here much more than the other way around, as opposed to looking at this as a more prominent coach being brought in to do his job and babysit him.

It makes me think of BB's speech about letting everyone do their job...and him doing his job.

This is like having a Ferrari in the garage.....with a Porsche as your daily driver.

Since they don't want be the Wisconsin anymore... heck Alvarez made Wisconsin into a "Nebraska in their glory days" clone, I guess plagiarism can be cool!

It will be interesting to hear how this is going to actually work practically.

The rep on Leonhard is that of an incredibly gifted practice field teacher, and Henry's work with our DB's in that regard speaks for itself.

On one level the more the merrier, but as you mention BB is big on coaches roles being very distinctly and precisely defined.

As an analyst, no field coaching for Leonard. No recruiting either. He will essentially be behind the scenes with video work and advising.

Oh is that right? I knew no recruiting but he can't be out at practice either?

Can he do film study with guys? I don't know this stuff as well as I should.

I'm assuming it's too late in the offseason for JL to bring any players with him, right?

Any info on potential HS recruits that this immediately puts us in a better spot to recruit?

Did JW have to really open up the check book for this or did we get a serious discount due to the $$ UW is still paying him?

There’s a reason he wasn’t announced for a while … I’ll leave it at that … If you guys remember, TA was “official” way before he was official … That is by design …

As for HS recruits … Won’t impact much in terms of this class besides getting to learn from him … Like I said earlier, could be some transition after the year if everything goes to plan and that’s when Leonhard would really start recruiting … And the portal would be a strong spot for him …

Oh don’t kid yourself … Josh deserves some major cred … Leonhard wasn’t free … But Josh has those relationships and Bret does as well … Boosters f’ing love him … Bret also delivers when he says he’s going to and makes an effort to create personal relationships … Most coaches don’t do that … Mr. Khan is a big Bielema fan …

They can't coach players during practice. The exact specifics, I'm not sure what wiggle room there is - regarding film study, I also don't know?

I can say I doubt Leonard would do that much direct player coaching. One, he's an analyst, not a coach, but you also don't want him to usurp another actual player coach, even unintentionally.

Don’t quote me because I haven’t asked my guy who knows all these rules and I’ve got enough to read at my actual job … 😂

But I believe there’s a work around where he can do some on field coaching in like individual workouts and stuff … But not 100% for sure …

Mainly, his role will be helping with the staff …
